Part 2 Chapter 85
***
A Terrible Scene of Torture…
Edgar felt his ears ringing.
He held his breath and tried to stay strong.
A few of the knights tried to escape with their subordinates, but they were helplessly stopped by Ryan’s soldiers who were controlling the entrance.
All the soldiers were wearing Bassenberg 1st Army uniforms.
This meant that the elite 1st Army had silently been wiped out.
Such a thing could only be done by someone with supernatural abilities.
Bang!
Bang!
Edgar could no longer bear to watch his son, who was dying, and his other son, who was killing him. He turned his head.
Ryan’s persuasion?
“You told me to find out what Ryan is hiding. Killing that kid would be the perfect proof.”
Ryan had been powerless to save Bania while watching her die in agony, and he believed that her death proved something, as David had said…
‘But it wasn’t the truth.’
It was simply that his desire for revenge outweighed everything else. He had been able to ignore the death of his sister and endure it with the bitterness of chewing his gallbladder. He had only held on for the sake of his current plan to kill everyone here.
So, persuasion was impossible.
Edgar clenched his trembling hands tightly, closing his eyes.
The only escape plan he could think of was one.
‘Krista, hurry…!!!’

Meanwhile, the scene rewinds to the journey of Bania and Kali after their infiltration.
“Krista is to be escorted to the meeting hall by the Duke’s orders,” Kali said to the guards at the east stairs of the castle.
She held out the sapphire medal (which she had stolen from the army commander).
The guard bowed deeply when he saw the medal and let them pass.
Just like the lower floors.
They casually moved up the stairs, heading for the top floor of the castle, the 10th floor.
Kali assumed Krista’s location would either be in the basement or on the top floor, and the way the first-floor guard had cleared their path confirmed her guess.
Why did she think that? Because only the basement and 10th floor had doors that could be locked from the outside.
The 10th floor was specially designed by her father for imprisoning his children.
How did she know that?
She didn’t want to know…
“The Duke asked you to bring Miss Krista to the meeting hall,” Kali repeated, showing the medal at the 6th floor guard.
The guard let them pass without suspicion.
Despite being in Bassenberg Castle, the security was surprisingly lax.
Kali, pretending to be a member of the 1st Army, wore their uniform and carried a stolen sword. Guards would have no reason to suspect her.
The 1st Army only ever stood around doing nothing during special occasions, so no one expected someone wearing their uniform to be an intruder.
“His Excellency the Duke’s orders,” Kali said again, showing her medal.
The 1st Army only gave this medal to trusted people like their commander, so the guards had no choice but to let Kali pass.

They reached the 10th floor quickly and stood before a door with three guards.
Kali showed her medal, saying the Duke had ordered Krista’s transport.
After a brief moment of silence, the head of the guards stepped forward.
“Excuse me, may I see the medal up close?” he asked, trying to be cautious.
Kali handed it over. He confirmed its authenticity, then smiled and introduced himself.
“My name is Mark Balz.”
Kali didn’t know him, but Mark seemed to be trying to impress her.
“Noted. Please lead the way,” she replied.
Mark, smiling brightly, opened the 10th floor door.
Inside, the familiar sight of the vast floor spread out before her.
Long corridors, dozens of rooms with large doors, and guards standing like statues at regular intervals.
‘It’s not hard to see why they never suspect anyone,’ Kali thought. ‘A non-superpowered person wouldn’t even think of trying anything here. The girl we’re after is an insane monster with destructive abilities.’
Mark led Kali through the long corridor, but she didn’t know where Krista was kept.
They reached the very end, where only one room remained on either side.
Could it be the last room? Or…
Something felt off. Kali could hear heavy footsteps coming from behind.
Perhaps more guards had followed.
She hoped it was just her imagination.
Just then, Mark spoke.
“Why are you speaking so informally?”
Kali froze.
Mark, standing to her left, pulled her hair back and made her bow down.
Bam!
She kneed him in the stomach.
“Cough!”
Quickly, she drew her sword and turned.
As expected, about 20 guards were behind her now.
They were cornered!
But this was exactly what she had planned!
They had expected to face the guards on the 10th floor.
In order to open Krista’s room, they had no choice but to fight.
“Just as I asked, I’ll use healing instead of binding,” Kali said quickly, making sure I could hear her.
“It’ll only be used for critical wounds,” she added. She didn’t want to hurt me by using the binding ability, which could be dangerous for me.
She had wanted to keep my existence safe until the very end.
“Don’t worry. It won’t take more than five minutes.”
I couldn’t communicate with her directly, but Kali answered as though she could read my mind.
With her sword in hand and a gun in the other, she was ready.
Bang!
The shot hit Mark in the thigh as he staggered from Kali’s knee to his stomach.
With that shot, Kali shouted,
“I’ll show you how strong Miss Krista’s knights are!”
And just like that, she charged at the enemy like lightning.
