Chapter 41
No matter how I looked at it, Dabien seemed completely caught up with Yutias. Yutias took out a stack of papers and a quill from the pocket dimension and handed them to Dabien.
“Lady, you also have authority. The Magic Tower has been difficult lately. Please pay attention.”
Dabien glared at the papers, then at me, grinding her teeth, and signed the documents.
Then, her face full of killing intent, she quietly said to Yutias:
“Get lost.”
Looking at Yutias, there was no trace of love or affection on Dabien’s face. And Yutias, smiling at Dabien, showed nothing either.
No. This isn’t what I wanted.
I wanted to see them being all lovey-dovey…!
But there was no sign of any affection. Just one party getting a good deal and the other forced into it.
Yutias, rolling the papers into a bundle, suddenly looked at me and smiled.
“Your Meteor Summon was impressive. Very memorable. Thanks to you, I got a good deal. Thank you.”
“Get lost. I’m busy,” growled Dabien.
But Yutias ignored her lightly and came toward me, kneeling.
Then, suddenly taking my hand, he kissed it and said:
“Nice to meet you, Lady. I’m Yutias.”
I quickly pulled my hand back, feeling a strangely sticky sensation.
“Ah… yes. I am…”
“No, no! No need to tell him your name. Go away, Yutias.”
Oh my. Do they not even have the concept of love?
Ugh… goodbye, Dabien and the Magic Tower. Farewell, my stocks.
A purple magic circle began forming beneath Yutias’ feet, who had been impressed by Dabien’s words.
“Then next time, I’ll ask your name, Lady.”
After finishing, Yutias winked and disappeared instantly.
“Kaeh, don’t even talk to that guy. He’s crazy, a complete lunatic.”
Dabien cracked her knuckles. The sound of bones snapping echoed.
“And!”
Her gaze turned to me. Meeting Dabien’s terrifyingly bright eyes, I shrank back completely.
“You must never! Ever! Become a mage. Just be a healer, a healer!”
“But…!”
“No buts. For world peace, just be a healer!”
It felt unfair. Dabien herself had encouraged me to study for the healer exam. And honestly, what I really wanted to learn wasn’t dangerous Fireball magic…
“Then… can’t you just teach me pocket dimension magic?”
Pocket dimension magic!
A magic like a game inventory—it was exactly what I needed.
“If I teach you pocket dimension magic, you could get stuck between dimensions and disappear. Nope! You’re a healer!”
Dabien was firm. I had summoned Meteor, so I quietly shut my mouth.
After returning to the library and listening to Dabien’s harsh scolding for another hour, I finally managed to return to my room, exhausted and hungry, thanks to Rova.
I flopped onto the sofa, still wondering about the Meteor I had summoned, when a familiar voice spoke inside the empty room.
“Finally, I can ask your name.”
Startled, I lifted my head. Yutias was standing in front of me.
“Oh…?”
He stepped forward and kneeled before me.
“Let me introduce myself again, Lady.”
For some reason, looking up at Yutias, I felt a strong sense of desire from him.
His light purple hair rippled as he looked up at me.
“My name is Yutias, head of the Magic Tower. And your name, Lady?”
Suddenly, he grabbed my hand. Surprised by the cold touch, I accidentally blurted out my name.
“Kaeh…”
“Kaeh… Kaehra. That’s a beautiful name.”
Smiling, he kissed my hand. Someone’s breath on my skin made me shiver.
Rova, watching nearby, trembled and buried herself in the sofa cushions.
“Where are you from? Your age? Your relationship with Dabien?”
Is he interrogating me?
Yutias stared at me, asking question after question. From the hand he held, a strange ominous aura seemed to rise. I forced my hand free, hugging the trembling Rova, and said:
“Um… I don’t know how you got in, but please leave. A lady’s room is not for strangers to enter.”
Yutias looked shocked for a moment, then suddenly chuckled.
His purple hair swayed beautifully as he stood. But the way he laughed… it was terrifyingly strange, not charming at all.
Laughing at being told to leave? Crazy… sca… scary!
“If you don’t leave, I’ll scream! Please go!”
I tried to calm my trembling voice, speaking firmly. Yutias’ laughter stopped for a moment. Then he flipped his hair back, smirking at me.
Like a celebrity in a photoshoot, he looked beautiful—but with an uncanny, eerie vibe.
“Helderios had hidden a treasure. After the twins, to meet someone my magic can’t control—this is an honor.”
What? He tried to control me with magic?
A madman.
His bright smile radiated pure insanity.
“You’re not even registered at the Magic Tower, yet your mana is so high. How tempting. How about joining the Tower with me? With your power, you could gain wealth and glory. Higher than Dabien, even higher than the Emperor.”
Yutias’ eyes glinted with desire.
Higher than the Emperor? Is he plotting a rebellion? Of course, I refused. My goal was to live quietly, long and healthy.
“No. Please leave immediately.”
The moment I finished, Yutias grinned faintly.
“Very few reject my offer and live. I wonder about you, Kaeh.”
His pale blue eyes radiated deadly intent. I remembered something: in the novel, Yutias was a psycho lunatic who was kind only to his wife, Dabien.
He showed no mercy to anyone else. Those who became his enemies often suffered or died painfully. Thinking this, my body shook violently.
Yutias, still staring at me, spoke with a smile.
“Heh, Kaeh. You’re more innocent than I thought. Don’t look at me with those eyes. Who knows what I might do.”
What? “Do”? Is he going to kill me? My heart raced at the returning dead flag.
Then, suddenly, he vanished.
“I smell something nice.”
Suddenly, near my ear, Yutias’ voice appeared. Had he teleported? He was behind the sofa, sniffing my neck.
“Your mana, your energy, I like it all.”
His breath so close gave me goosebumps.
“I never let go of what I want.”
What? What does that mean?
Before I could think, a wet sensation touched my neck.
Wet…?
This guy was insane. A perverted madman.
Dabien, your fiancé is crazy! A total pervert! Completely lost his mind.
“Kyaaah!”
I jumped up, screaming wildly.
In front of me was a 50 cm thick Advanced Healing Magic book on the table. For a perverted madman, discipline was the answer.
“Yyaah!”
I swung the book at Yutias as I shouted.
At that moment—
“Kaeh! Are you okay?”
I heard Dabien’s urgent voice. My mind blurred, vision darkened, and someone shook me violently.
“Snap out of it, Kaeh!”
When I opened my eyes, Dabien and Lloyd were staring at me.
“Huh… here… um… what?”
I had been ready to strike the perverted madman with the book, but now I was lying on the sofa.
I quickly sat up.
“A dream…?”
It was all a dream?
“Are you okay?”
Lloyd held my hand. It was trembling.
“I came to prepare your meal, but you wouldn’t wake up and seemed unwell. So I brought you and Lady Dabien. Are you alright?”
The maid asked, concerned.
I nodded absentmindedly. Around me were Dabien, Lloyd, the maid, and Rova. Yutias was nowhere.
“I’m fine. I just had a strange dream.”
I couldn’t bring myself to say I dreamed of Yutias.
The dream itself was too weird.
Dizziness came, my head ached.
“Rest a little, you’ll be fine.”
After seeing off the twins and the maid, I lay down on the bed, ignoring the damaged Advanced Healing Magic book on the floor.
Its corners were badly ruined.
I was worried Yutias might appear in another dream and slept uneasily—but thankfully, I didn’t dream of him again that night. I told myself it was just because I had summoned Meteor and got startled.
And it didn’t take long for me to realize it wasn’t just a dream.
