Chapter 133
‘…Where is this?’
My feet were floating in the air.
Slowly, a faint scenery came into view.
‘…This is Korea?’
It was the middle of a familiar city.
And I was drifting above it, like a half-transparent ghost.
Suddenly, a woman stepped out of a tall building.
Her appearance felt strangely familiar, and when I saw her face, I gasped and covered my mouth.
‘Me?’
My body floated along as if pulled, following… myself.
The woman had long, pink-dyed hair and bold makeup.
She walked toward the parking lot and sat in the driver’s seat of a luxury car worth millions.
‘That’s definitely me… but different.’
Before I became Katrin Elemore, I hadn’t been poor, but I wasn’t rich enough to drive a car like that.
As she started the engine and drove off, I was pulled along with her.
“Did someone else enter my body…? Just like how I entered Katrin’s body?”
Then it hit me. That pink hair—I knew it.
She drove happily out of the city and parked in front of a café in the suburbs.
Brushing her long hair back, she walked inside.
Three people who had been waiting quickly stood up to greet her.
“Thank you for coming, Writer Katrin.”
Huh?
She smiled faintly and replied,
“Thank you too. I’m glad we could meet. Let’s sit down and talk.”
‘No way…’
I listened quietly to their conversation.
“Writer, your new work was really amazing.”
“Yes, just like your personality—so refreshing!”
They said she was a top romance fantasy author, one of the best-selling writers of the year.
Her pen name: Katrin.
Her novels were famous for their realistic feeling and intricate plots—almost like real events.
A major overseas platform, Netchlix, had even bought the rights to one of her works for a drama adaptation.
Her witty “noble lady” dialogue and sharp character style had made her go viral in media appearances too.
In Korea, she was now the most popular writer, also working as an influencer.
“This is why we really want you on our show.”
The meeting was about her guest appearance on a variety program.
‘What is going on?!’
She was the original Katrin.
And somehow, after entering my modern body, she had become a top author?!
Still stunned, I followed as she excused herself and went to the powder room.
She looked into the mirror and laughed softly.
Her—no, my—face looked like the perfect villainess.
“Really, I don’t know how you lived in that world. To be reborn here, in such a convenient place… and to absorb all the original owner’s memories too—so there’s no discomfort at all.”
Her wicked voice made my fingertips twitch.
She wasn’t speaking to me, but it was clear she was completely satisfied with her new life.
“Ah, and my favorite actor will be on this show too. Of course I have to join. Why would they even ask? Hahaha!”
She laughed wickedly at her own reflection.
Then suddenly, the scene shifted—the background changed into space.
And there stood the Writer, the one who had summoned me once before.
He looked weaker than last time, but still had a faint smile.
“What was that just now?” I frowned.
“The original Katrin… is in my body? Weren’t our souls one? Didn’t we merge…?”
“It’s complicated. Yes, your souls are one. But you can exist both here and there. Think of her as another complete version of you. You don’t need to worry.”
“How can I not worry—it’s my body…”
But then I remembered—I had also been using another person’s body freely, Katrin’s body.
I went silent.
To be honest, the me I just saw in modern Korea looked much happier than the old me.
She had turned her talent into great success.
Just like how I was now living a happier, more colorful life here in this world.
“…That’s a relief.”
If that was true, then even the original Katrin had her happy ending.
When I whispered this with a sigh, the Writer’s smile deepened.
“But is that why you called me? Just to show me how well she’s living?”
He shook his head and handed me something glowing.
“It was partly that. But mainly—for this.”
In his hand was a glowing sphere.
I recognized the aura.
‘The Watch.’
“Last time, you chose to stay in this world instead of returning. Because of that, you gained the power to destroy the dark shadows tormenting your beloved.”
Yes. I had decided not to return.
I wanted to master Etias’s shadow power and set him free.
And after seeing modern Katrin, I knew—I had chosen well.
Both of us had found happiness in our own worlds.
“Take it.”
I reached out and accepted it.
The warmth spread through my whole body as the light sank into me.
The glowing faded, but the power remained inside me.
“It seems the time has come.”
His figure began to fade away.
Panicked, I asked quickly,
“How do I use this power? You need to tell me!”
He laughed softly.
“You’re going to marry Etias, aren’t you? Then you’ll understand naturally.”
“What? Wait—!”
But his smile lingered as he disappeared completely.
“Katrin!”
Etias’s rough voice echoed in my ears.
I opened my eyes.
I was in his arms, beside the carriage.
The parade had stopped. People were staring and whispering.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his brows furrowed.
I nodded blankly.
“You suddenly collapsed inside the carriage.”
“…Ah.”
So I had fainted.
“I should have paid more attention,” he said, guilt in his blue eyes.
“It’s not like that. I’m fine, really.”
Of course—I had only left briefly to meet the Writer.
But Etias shook his head.
The people watching were worried too, whispering loudly:
“Duke Katrin Elemore played such a big role in the war.”
“She must have overworked herself.”
“How fortunate His Majesty has such a great person beside him—but her health is important too…”
That wasn’t it at all.
But to them, I must have looked like a patriot who collapsed only after the war was won.
“Can you stay in my arms? We need to hurry to the palace and have you examined.”
“I’m really fine. We could just take the carriage…”
But with all eyes on us, Etias carried me up onto his horse.
“Hold tight.”
He spurred the horse forward, racing toward the palace.
My pink hair flew in the wind, and my cheeks burned from embarrassment.
I’m really fine, Etias… really.
