The Three of Us Sleeping Together
Jiang Xi fell to the ground from Lu Liufeng’s embrace and steadied herself.
But her gaze didn’t immediately fall on Mu Ling, who was being watched by the beastmen; instead, it went toward the river nearby.
At the river, a few injured snake-beastmen were washing their wounds with river water and applying herbs.
She raised her head in puzzlement and looked at Lu Liufeng.
Lu Liufeng seemed to have guessed what she was thinking but still said,
“I’ll go ask.”
As Lu Liufeng went to inquire, Jiang Xi’s eyes swept across the Hot River Valley.
She didn’t see Duan Si, nor did she see Yifu or the two little green snakes.
However, when Lu Liufeng returned after asking, Yifu emerged from the forest as well, his eyes lighting up when he saw her.
“The female master has returned.”
He made a point of explaining why the two little ones hadn’t appeared.
“Dana and Daler are asleep. Before going to bed, they were still looking for the female master.”

“Let them sleep.”

Lu Liufeng returned and looked toward Yifu as he spoke.
“So just now, Duan Si fought against the snake-beastmen?”

He lowered his amber-colored eyes and directly looked at the female master, saying,
“Just now, Duan Si dueled with several beastmen.”
“A duel?”
Jiang Xi glanced at the river in confusion.
Those snake-beastmen by the river didn’t look like they dared provoke Duan Si. After all, Duan Si’s ferocious reputation was well known. Any snake-beastmen living in Hot River Valley would know better than to challenge him.
Yifu’s gaze flickered, and he hurriedly said,
“I’ll go check on the two little ones.”

Outside Duan Si’s cave, thick vines hung down, and the entrance was piled with many beast bones.
Jiang Xi and Lu Liufeng approached the entrance.
Jiang Xi peeked in cautiously and called out,
“Duan Si, are you asleep?”
She stepped back slightly, leaning against Lu Liufeng and holding his hand.
For some reason, the huge dark cave made her feel as though two eyes might suddenly light up inside.
But her mind’s imagined scene didn’t occur.
After a rustling sound, Duan Si’s voice came from within,
“Come in.”
Then a fire lit inside, illuminating the jagged walls of the cave.
The cave was unexpectedly large and empty, with not a single animal skin.
It was so bare that Jiang Xi didn’t know where to sit at first.
But she soon found a place—she spotted the animal skins that she and Lu Liufeng had brought.
“Weren’t these ours? How did they get here?”
Duan Si, with a human head and snake body, muscles flowing on his bare upper body, said in a flat tone,
“If not here, then where?”
“Tonight, isn’t the female master supposed to sleep in Hot River Valley?”
Jiang Xi nodded.
Duan Si continued, expressionless,
“I’ll go sleep outside later and let you and Lu Liufeng use the cave.”
“Ah?”
Jiang Xi was shocked, and even Lu Liufeng froze.
“Let us use it?”
Jiang Xi hurriedly waved her hands,
“No, no, this is your cave. You should stay here. The weather isn’t cold outside, so we can just sleep wherever.”

“The cave is so big, I can’t sleep in it alone. Can the three of us sleep together?”

“Together?”
The thought of three sleeping together…
