Chapter 85
Cold Chain Is the Key to Distribution
“Don’t misunderstand. For a wizard, brewing is like very basic alchemy training.
You get 1 penalty point for messing up the brewing and making trash alcohol. You get another point for drinking it and acting like a fool afterward.
If you become a wizard and still make garbage like that, drink it without filtering it, and think it’s ‘manly,’ you should reflect on yourself.
That’s not manly, and it’s not wizard-like either.
Also, since Karl is the dorm leader, he has to take responsibility, so I’m giving him 2 penalty points. Do you understand?”
Professor Denev was scolding Bolson, but it felt like he was scolding the entire Boreas dorm.
However, the Boreas students focused more on blaming Bolson than listening to the professor.
“Bolson, you idiot.”
“You’re dead.”
Now Karl’s penalty points were -7, and the Boreas dorm’s total was -29, staying firmly in 1st place in the penalty rankings.
The mood was cold and scary.
All the blame might fall on Bolson, and something really bad could happen.
‘Hmm… This is getting serious.
Boreas is too rough, so someone soft like Bolson can’t handle it.
I guess I’ll have to take care of him.’
Idnia, feeling concerned, went up to Karl.
“Karl, may I talk to you for a moment?
Ah, this is some bread we baked. It was made using old biscuits, so it might not taste great… But please accept it kindly.”
She gave Karl bread made by crushing old biscuits and baking it again.
“Oh, such a precious gift…”
Even though they were both from high noble families, here they were calling recycled biscuit bread a “precious gift.” It was silly, but Karl meant it.
After all, for hungry students, good bread was a valuable resource—especially in Eurus, where food was always lacking.
“So, Lady Idnia. What did you want to say?”
“I’m worried that you might be too angry at Bolson, since he’s also my assistant.”
Idnia openly asked Karl to go easy on Bolson. It was very direct, but being subtle might have caused more problems.
‘I’m the Duke’s daughter. If I act like I’m not aware of my status, it causes more problems.
Even if some people dislike me, I’ll have to accept that.’
But something unexpected happened.
“Oh, is that so?”
“Well, if Lady Idnia says so…”
“We must respect her wishes.”
“Honestly, drinking and passing out is normal in the North, haha.”
As soon as they heard Idnia’s request, everyone’s anger toward Bolson disappeared.
Even Idnia was surprised. Things worked out too easily.
“Huh? You’re really okay with this?”
“Sure. It’s not like I lost any good alcohol.”
Karl said it with a cheerful smile.
‘Wait, weren’t you ready to beat him up just a moment ago? How did your attitude change so fast?’
Northern people value honor and reputation.
So when someone like Idnia, who has high value and status, asks for a favor, they see it as something that builds their own honor.
The honor gained by forgiving Bolson was greater than the shame of his mistake.
In other words, Idnia was that valuable in their eyes.
‘Lady Idnia is not just beautiful—her actions and character are special.’
‘She’s amazing. A great ally, and a worthy rival too.’
Everyone in the North quietly admired her for succeeding without schemes, through her own skill.
So when she asked them to forgive Bolson, they did—happily.
‘Simple-mindedness can be a good thing. But if these people become enemies, they’d be very scary.’
Idnia realized that their praise meant she needed to act even more carefully from now on.
“By the way, Lady Idnia, do you know Professor Buremhyde?”
“Ah, not closely. I just spoke with him while making a new club.”
“I see. I’d like to meet with everyone soon.”
“I was planning to go to the new clubroom later. We’ll meet you before lunch, after the morning class.”
So Idnia set the first official activity of the Wizard Ball Club for just before lunch.
“Hmm… Buremhyde…”
Karl repeated the name with a meaningful smile.

The next class was Beginner Magic with Baroness Bulem.
She was being very dramatic.
“Today’s magic is very special—one of the most useful household spells!
In the South, this one spell can help you earn a living forever.
There are so many fake versions of this spell that true, proper versions are rare.
Now, can you guess what it is?”
She gave a quiz in her usual energetic way. Lorenzo raised his hand.
“Yes, Lord Lorenzo? What’s your answer?”
“Cooling magic.”
“Yes, correct! 1 bonus point for you! As expected from a southern noble.”
Baroness Bulem often gave points to students who answered her quizzes, especially to high-ranking nobles or royal students.
‘Ugh, I don’t like this kind of teaching.
But cooling magic… I needed this.
Why now? It’s almost like she’s helping me on purpose…’
Idnia was suspicious, but still happy. She needed this spell to store crops and food from her garden.
“Okay, traditional cooling magic is not easy. You need to follow closely.
This won’t be as easy as the previous spells.”
She began her lesson proudly.
And she had every right to.
As she explained the spell, a huge number of floating magic boards appeared—like pages of a giant book. Way more than before.
It was hard to see the back rows because so many appeared.
“How are we supposed to see this?”
“These boards look different to each student.
Use telekinesis on your wand to ‘push’ the board like you would a blackboard.”
A student tried and gasped.
“Oh! The board moved! Sorry, Your Highness. I flipped it without asking.”
“Huh? It didn’t change for me.”
“Didn’t she say we all see different boards?”
“Really? I’ve never heard of this.”
“I heard of it, but seeing it in real life is amazing.”
Crown Prince Rudolf also tried it, and his board moved too.
Everyone was shocked. The magic was so advanced that each board only reacted to the user’s magic.
“Wow…”
Many students had thought Baroness Bulem was just a harmless tutor who pandered to noble kids.
But this magic was something else.
‘This magic is even more complex than flame spells… It’s so detailed!’
Idnia flipped through the floating boards, amazed.
Then the baroness continued explaining.
“Looks hard, right?
Of course, normal street magicians don’t use this kind of spell.
They summon ice spirits or use cold winds from the ice realm instead.
Others open gates to freezing mountains, or make deals with anakaris to absorb heat and create cold.
So many tricks exist.
But real, proper cooling magic erases heat itself.
It’s called True Source Cooling, and it’s a grand-level spell.”
She continued flipping through the boards, explaining each part—but she went way too fast.
Students tried to take notes but quickly gave up.
“Um, Baroness? Could you slow down a bit?”
Some students raised their hands, but she ignored them.
“Your Highness, maybe if you said something…”
Zephyros students whispered to Prince Rudolf, hoping he could stop her.
But Rudolf shook his head.
“Wait a bit. I don’t think she’s trying to teach us.
She’s just showing what high-level magic looks like.
That’s also a kind of good teaching.
Many students here are arrogant. This reminds them how deep magic really is.”
Everyone looked embarrassed and put down their pens.
But not Idnia.
She kept writing.
‘Wow… this is incredible. So advanced. Real magic.
Negative momentum… and all these methods to create it… amazing.’
The sound of her pen was the only thing in the room.
“Wow, Lady Idnia is amazing.”
“She acts like she truly understands it.”
“As expected of the Betelgeuse Duke’s daughter.
She really is different. Look at all her points.”
Isolde’s friends whispered jealously, but Idnia didn’t hear.
She was too busy writing, completely focused on learning this great magic.
