 “The Little Bunny’s Secret”

There was a short note left behind — full of sadness:

“Will I die if I skip one day of training?
Try sleeping alone in a big bed and see how lonely it feels! ^ㅠ^
And don’t you DARE come looking for me!
Because I don’t really want you to!
I hope you don’t come!
I’m mad, okay?”

Bang!
Startled, Nike (the prince) burst out of the room right away.

“Stop, Your Highness!”
But Kali stopped him.

“Why?”
“Where are you going?”
“To the duke’s mansion!”

Of course — that’s the only place Bania could have gone.

“She probably isn’t there. She left the palace a week ago. If she went to visit her family…”

Even Kali had received the same summons letter from Lion, since he was part of the Belzer family.

“We must go to Belzer!”

As I (Bania) walked toward the banquet hall, I asked Lion,
“Are you seriously still not going to tell me what this ‘important matter’ is?”

I’d been back home for four days — relaxing and catching up with family —
but Lion wouldn’t say a word about why he’d called us all here.

“Oh, stop asking! You’ll find out once the meeting starts!”
“I bet it’s something pointless again!”

Something felt ominous to me.

“You first. You said it was something that would ‘shock me,’ right?”
“Yep. I’ll tell you once the meeting begins too!”

Fine — two can play this game.
Since he wouldn’t talk, I also decided not to tell him about the baby bunny.

At the door to the banquet hall, Lion smirked at me.
“Hey, do you remember our bet from two years ago?”

I gasped.

on the left, Märchen, Krista, and Richard.

“Come sit here, royal guest of honor!”

I tried sitting beside Alex, but Lion added a new chair at the head table — right next to him — so I sat there instead.

Then he began,
“Thank you all for coming. Before dinner, I’ll explain why I called this urgent meeting.”

Finally!

“As you know, the timing of monster outbreaks in the ‘Cursed Lands’ matched in all four regions recently. That’s something that happens once in decades.”

…Huh?

I tensed immediately.
Märchen, Krista, and Richard, who’d expected nonsense, also froze.
We all felt something serious coming.

“The Emperor has contacted me. I must go across the sea to the Rotenberg Kingdom as the Empire’s ambassador. It’ll take at least half a year.”

My heart dropped.

The “monsters” talk was real — and now he had to go abroad?

“Wait — are monsters appearing in other continents too?” Richard asked anxiously.

Lion’s face turned serious.
“I’ll need your help. Can you all come with me?”

Everyone went silent for a moment — then:

“I’ll go.”
“Me too.”
“I’m coming as well!”

They all agreed instantly — brave warriors, loyal to the Empire.

“Agh…”
Alex sighed but still added, “I’ll go too!”
And I said, “Count me in as well!”

Then suddenly—

“Hell no! I’m not doing this!”

Rivan slammed the table.

“Hahahahahaha!”

Lion burst out laughing.
He laughed so hard he was crying.

“What’s so funny?!”

Alex, resting his chin on one hand, said lazily,
“The Emperor told him to go meet noble ladies in Rotenberg. It’s a matchmaking trip.”

…What?

“WHAT?!”
“You’re kidding me!”
“ARE YOU SERIOUS?!”
“Is this a joke?!”

Everyone exploded in shock while Lion kept laughing until tears ran down his face.

“HAHAHAHAHA!”

“Is this funny to you?! And why did you bring up the ‘monster’ thing first?!”

“It’s related!” he said, shrugging.

“Since we finished monster hunts in all four regions, the Empire will be monster-free for the next half year. So… that’s my vacation. I can leave the country now.”

“Unbelievable…”

“Calm down!” Lion said, tapping my shoulder and ringing a small bell.

He grinned. “It’s outrageous that the great Belzer family still has no lady of the house, isn’t it?”

At his signal, servants brought in food.

“And as someone with rare powers, I have the duty to preserve my bloodline — meaning I must focus on marriage.”

Krista teased, “But all the women here keep running away from you. Why would foreign ones like you?”

“Watch your mouth!” he snapped.

“Anyway, the Emperor cares about me so much that I must succeed on this trip! This time, I’ll find Clara, the one who ran away from home!”

Bang! He hit the table again, full of determination.

Richard, who’d been drinking wine, spat it out.

“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”

Richard had been secretly dating someone named Clara for a year —
he’d asked me to keep it quiet until Lion found his own partner.

Lion continued, “I’ll finish my love story fast — from dating to marriage!”

Just then, the luxurious dinner dishes were set on the table.

“Hahaha! Which means I’ll win our bet, slow little bunny!”

I suddenly felt queasy.

“Ugh…”

Silence fell.

“Great timing.”

The smell of roasted turkey hit me and—

“Ughh!”

I covered my mouth. My stomach turned.

Everyone stared at me with wide eyes.
Lion looked shocked.

“Wait… don’t tell me— Ugh— it’s because of what I think it is? You’re not just acting, right?”

Still covering my mouth, I looked around the table.
Everyone had the same expression — disbelief.

Then I lifted two fingers toward Lion.

“Two months. That’s how old the baby bunny is.”

“Pfft—!”

Richard choked on his drink.

Lion’s jaw dropped.

I smirked.
“If you don’t get married in eight months, I win, Lion!”

“Whaaaaaaat!!!”

Lion jumped up, roaring, and chaos broke out.

“Big sister! Are you serious?!” Alex cried, tears already streaming.
“Holy crap! What a day!” Rivan yelled, clutching his head.
“Don’t curse! The baby can hear you!” Krista scolded.
“Baniaaa!” Richard ran over to hug me.
“Oh my… unbelievable!” Märchen gasped —
and accidentally cut his own hand instead of the turkey.

“Ahhhh!”

Crack! His neck twisted at a weird angle.

“Not exactly good for prenatal peace!” I screamed.

“Reverse it!” Lion shouted, touching my shoulder.

He used his power — Eye of the Mirror: Reversal Time —
and rewound the moment, snatching the knife away.

Chaos everywhere.

And that’s how the entire family found out about the baby bunny.

At the same time, Kali was following behind Nike, who had ridden nonstop for four days to reach Belzer.

He looked half-dead from worry over the wife who’d left only a note behind.

They reached the long palace corridor, and from behind the banquet hall doors came:

“KYAAAAAA!!!”
“WOOOOO!!!”
“I still have eight months! I won’t lose!”
“BANIAAA!!! AHHHH!!!”

Screams and chaos echoed from inside.

Kali just smiled, realizing exactly what was going on.
