Episode4
In the end, wasn’t the conclusion simply that it was all infidelity, whether you call it an affair or cheating?
Is it “an affair” only if he’s serious about the other woman?
Well, since he hasn’t once told me he wants to leave me, then maybe it counts only as “cheating”?
From where I stand now, it doesn’t matter. I can’t see any real difference.
Some said, “Even if he looks serious in front of his wife, outside you never know what men are up to.”
Until I heard those opinions, I couldn’t believe it. But in the end, all six of them agreed:
> “Sex? He’s probably been doing it left and right, ages ago already.”
I was crushed, realizing just how out of touch I was with the world.
But still, what else could I think?
My husband and I have been sexless for the past ten years. Not once—not a single time.
So I believed he had lost all interest in women’s bodies.
I thought he was simply a man indifferent to sex.
I even remembered hearing him once say:
> “I have no interest in filthy, lust-ridden adult videos. I don’t even want to watch them.”
That’s why… to me, the idea of initiating sex with him was an impossibly high barrier.
Not just a high wall—
to me, it was like one of those ivy-covered stone prison walls in some place in Kurashiki.
But it wasn’t like that at all.
It was simply that he had lost interest in me, while he still had plenty of interest in younger women.
> “It hurts too much.”
And if my coworkers ever found out this was about my own husband… the thought alone was terrifying.
> “Never again. I can never bring up this topic again. It’s far too dangerous… too frightening.”
