Episode 02
Part 1. The Possessed Wants to Live Quietly
Yoo Jae-i, eighteen years old.
Hard to believe, but she was currently possessed—inside the world of a novel she’d picked up at a friend’s recommendation.
She read web novels regardless of genre, so when she heard it was popular, she started without much suspicion. But as the story progressed, something began to feel… off.
She realized a little too late that the novel was BL.
Still, drawn in by the provocative, train-wreck-like plot, Jae-i ended up reading it all the way to the end.
…She really shouldn’t have.
After finishing the novel, she fell into a deep sleep—and when she woke up, she found herself in a world that looked familiar, yet was completely different.
Usually, when someone transmigrated, they became an overpowered protagonist destined to save the world, or a filthy-rich heir.
But here?
Jae-i was a nameless extra with no relevance whatsoever.
And yet, she wasn’t dissatisfied.
Because the original work was a BL novel where men clung to men—and the main top was one of the craziest bastards imaginable.
Better to be an extra than that.
If she’d possessed the main bottom, she’d have had to rack her brain every moment just to escape the top’s obsessive fixation.
At least she didn’t have to worry about that.
Her goal was simple:
to live a life completely unrelated to them.
To exist quietly on the sidelines—
Classmate No. 1, barely noticeable, barely remembered.
Satisfied with the role she’d been given, Jae-i was living out her days peacefully when, without any warning, Seo Eun-ho came looking for her.
The original novel’s main bottom.
The pitiful, unfortunate protagonist destined to suffer under a madman’s obsessive love.
“Jae-i, want to eat together?”
“…With me?”
Pure confusion filled her mind.
After all, despite being in the same class, she’d never once exchanged words with Seo Eun-ho.
For him to suddenly come up to her and ask her to eat together—anyone would be startled.
And Jae-i was very much startled.
There were plenty of other kids around.
Why her?
“Come eat with me, okay?”
“Um, that is—”
“I’ll buy you chocolate milk too.”
Huh?
Seo Eun-ho tilted his head slightly and smiled brightly.
Soft, gently curved eyes. A beautifully lifted smile. A face where everything came together in perfect harmony.
They said handsome people had the power to make anything they said sound reasonable—
And before she realized it, Jae-i had nodded blankly.
“Then we’ll go together at lunch, yeah?”
“…Huh?”
Only then did she realize her mistake.
But Seo Eun-ho had already returned to his seat.
The bell rang soon after, and she completely missed her chance to take it back.
To make matters worse—
Lunch period was next.
This is bad…
Honestly, Seo Eun-ho alone wasn’t the problem.
The problem was that among the people he ate with was him.
The main top of the story—
the lunatic Jae-i most wanted to avoid.
In the original novel, the things he did after being repeatedly rejected by Seo Eun-ho went beyond imagination.
Just thinking about it made her hair stand on end.
I don’t want to become someone connected to Seo Eun-ho.
His obsession was so extreme that he claimed no one but himself was allowed near Seo Eun-ho—and he even staged accidents to kill Seo Eun-ho’s family.
Granted, all of that happened after they became adults.
But insanity like that didn’t just appear overnight.
He was already dangerous enough.
…I should run.
She’d missed her chance to refuse—but she still had a way out.
Leave the classroom the moment the bell rang.
Then come back just before lunch ended.
Perfect.
Ding-dong-daeng.
The moment the bell rang, Jae-i shot up from her seat.
She was just about to leave the classroom when she realized something she hadn’t considered.
“Jae-i.”
Seo Eun-ho’s seat was right next to the door.
Jae-i froze, her big eyes darting around.
After quickly packing up, Seo Eun-ho approached her with a bright smile.
“Shall we go?”
Before she could react, his arm settled naturally around her shoulders.
A casual gesture meant for close friends.
Startled, Jae-i shrank back instinctively.
And just like that, she was led out of the classroom.
That’s when she saw him approaching from afar.
Jae-i lowered her head, fear tightening her chest.
“Over here!”
Unaware of her turmoil, Seo Eun-ho called out to him.
The guy arrived quickly, smiling at Seo Eun-ho—
then stopping short when he noticed Jae-i beside him.
“Who’s that?”
“My classmate. I told you before—there’s someone I want to get close to.”
“Oh.”
Jae-i desperately wanted Seo Eun-ho to stop talking.
She wanted to say they weren’t that close at all—but she was too busy trembling to get the words out.
“Jae-i, are you cold?”
“…H-Huh?”
“You’re shaking so much.”
Seo Eun-ho bent down, trying to meet her eyes.
Startled by the sudden closeness, Jae-i jerked her head up—
And for the first time, she properly saw him.
No—
she couldn’t not see him.
…Wow.
The fear vanished the instant their eyes met, replaced by pure, instinctive awe.
She knew the novel described his looks as
“a beauty like Snow White turned into a man.”
But—
It’s actually true…
She’d thought it was exaggerated.
It wasn’t.
Skin as white as snow. Lips red as if tinted. Jet-black hair creating a striking contrast.
He really did look like Snow White incarnate.
Even the excessive piercings—far too many to count, easily over ten—somehow suited him perfectly.
“Yoo Jae-i?”
Those beautiful lips moved, and a low, pleasant voice called her name.
Blinking slowly, Jae-i realized belatedly that he was talking to her.
This was not the time for this—but she’d completely forgotten how serious the situation was, blinded by his looks.
What was she supposed to do about this cursed face-based value system?
“…Y-Yeah?”
“You’re Yoo Jae-i, right?”
How did he know her name?
Seeing her confused eyes, he tilted his chin slightly.
Following his gaze, she noticed the student ID hanging around her neck.
Ah. That explained it.
“…Y-Yeah. That’s me.”
“I’m Han Lee-hyun.”
After the indifferent introduction, Han Lee-hyun stepped forward—
And effortlessly removed Seo Eun-ho’s arm from Jae-i’s shoulders.
Before she could even process the sudden distance, Lee-hyun smoothly redirected Seo Eun-ho’s attention with a question.
“Where’s Jung Da-um?”
“He probably left early for soccer. Said he had an ice cream bet with Class 5.”
“Wow. What a traitor.”
“Seriously.”
Lee-hyun snorted softly and draped his arm over Seo Eun-ho’s shoulders.
Just as they were about to head to the cafeteria, Seo Eun-ho stopped and turned back to Jae-i, who had been left behind.
“Jae-i, let’s go.”
Seo Eun-ho couldn’t see it—
But standing across from them, Jae-i could clearly see Han Yi-hyun’s face.
It was cold.
Those pitch-black eyes were issuing a warning, clear as day.
Get lost—while I’m being nice about it.
For a brief moment, she’d forgotten who he was, distracted by his beauty.
Now she remembered.
A madman who would eliminate anyone near Seo Eun-ho—even family.
And that dangerous man was now wary of her.
This was bad.
No—
this was an emergency.
“I—I don’t feel well. I don’t think I can eat today.”
“…All of a sudden?”
“Yeah… sorry. Let’s eat together next time.”
The moment she finished speaking, Jae-i turned and walked away as fast as she could.
She heard Seo Eun-ho calling after her—but she pretended not to hear.
Only after rushing down the stairs and reaching the central garden did she finally turn around.
No one was following her.
“Haah…”
Letting out a long breath, Jae-i made up her mind.
She would never get involved with Seo Eun-ho.
For someone ordinary like her, a madman who defied common sense was overwhelming just by existing.
That’s enough.
She prayed—desperately—that this sudden interest would end today.
