Prologue
“P-please, spare me!”
The guard who used to toss me around and abuse me was now desperately begging for his life.
“Hey now. It’s not like I enjoy getting blood on my hands.”
Yeah, swinging a rusty sword and hacking people up isn’t exactly my thing either.
Aside from the satisfaction of revenge, I was irritated that I had to hurt someone just to survive.
‘So it ends up like this.’
I slowly looked back on everything that led to this moment.
To sum it up in three sentences:
I was transported into a martial arts romance fantasy.
I died.
And then I was transported again—this time into a Western romance fantasy.
Not even a regression after possession, but jumping between novels?!
The more I thought about it, the more annoyed I got.
“I-I-I mean, if you just spare me, I’ll do anything—Aagh!”
“!!!”
The guard who had tormented me suddenly screamed.
It wasn’t because of me. The prison shook with a loud crash.
Snapping out of my thoughts, I quickly looked around.
What’s going on?
A bad feeling crept up on me. Taking care of the guard was important, but surviving came first, so I turned with my dull sword in hand.
At that moment, a man blocked my path.
“So this is where you were. I’ve been looking for you.”
Instinctively, I swung my sword.
Clang.
The sound of metal hitting metal rang out. My weak sword snapped clean in half. I could have used palm techniques, but I didn’t have enough skill to close the distance after he stepped back so quickly.
It was my defeat.
“That’s a dangerous thing you’re holding.”
The man lightly kicked the broken sword aside and stepped closer.
A gust of wind blew through the gaping hole in the wall, making his jet-black hair flutter.
His tall frame, broad shoulders, and features so perfectly shaped they looked almost divine made me catch my breath.
“Clonne.”
The man held out his hand to me.
