It is to recruit a servant for the mansion of a high-ranking official in the capital.” The Young lady said. “For now, signing this is the only way for you to safely leave this estate.” Why would such a contract come out of the young lady’s drawer? “There is something you must know before you sign. Once you enter the mansion in the capital, you are absolutely forbidden from leaving until the employment contract is terminated.” What was even stranger was the fact that ‘that mansion’ had a clause prohibiting departure. It was a choice between ‘being kidnapped and being married off to the old butler’s son’ vs ‘entering a mysterious noble household as a servant.' It was a choice with no room for doubt. There was no time to hesitate “It’s alright. Surely I won’t die.” I wrote my name at the end of the contract with the quill pen the young lady handed me.
