SV 42

Synopsis

“This bird’s wings must be clipped.”

Isabel de Pienne.
She once dreamed of becoming a knight — but after losing her wings, she became a nun.

There was no hope, no salvation.
No rest, no peace.

The raging war eventually reached Isabel, who was barely surviving in despair.

“I’ll become your god.”

Lionel Ortega, prince of the Alevan Empire,
the man who killed his own brother and waged war against his sister to claim the throne.

He shattered Isabel’s fate.

“Grip your sword and die!”

Why did those words — meant as a death sentence — sound so much like a promise to live?
Isabel could not understand.
