Ning Xuechu’s heart slowly turned cold. She did not want to listen anymore. She stood up and said, “I’m a little tired. I’ll go back to my room to rest.”
“Alright, Miss Ning, have a good rest,” Aunt Lian said with a smile.
After returning to her room, Ning Xuechu’s eyes became icy. The anger in her heart had nowhere to go. It blocked her chest and made her feel suffocated.
She picked up her phone and wanted to ask An Jianqing about it. But she was afraid of hearing an answer she did not want to hear.
While she was hesitating, she received a message from Wan Qin.
“Secretary Ning, look at President An’s Weibo. Did she officially announce her relationship?”
Ning Xuechu’s heart tightened. She nervously opened the screenshot.
An Jianqing’s latest Weibo was posted this morning. It only had one sentence:
“The weather is very nice.”
Below it was a picture—two shadows standing close together, their heads leaning against each other.
The meaning was obvious.
Ning Xuechu’s heart trembled. A cold feeling spread through her body. Her fingers shook so badly that she could not type. Her throat felt like someone was choking her. It was dry and hoarse.
“Secretary Ning, look at the top comment under President An’s Weibo. The main person showed up!” Wan Qin said excitedly.
Ning Xuechu moved her fingers and opened Weibo. A sentence jumped into her eyes.
“Baby, as long as I have you, every day is sunny. Love you.”
There was also a kissing emoji at the end.
The red heart made her eyes sting. She suddenly threw the phone away and collapsed onto the bed as if all her strength was gone.
A deep pain spread from her heart. It hurt so much that she could hardly breathe.
Ning Xuechu closed her eyes, hiding the fierce light inside them.
Her phone rang. It was An Jianqing calling.
Ning Xuechu took a deep breath, forcing down the bitterness in her throat. She squeezed out a soft and obedient voice. “Sister, you’re coming back today, right?”
“Yes. I’m bringing a friend back. Call Second Uncle and Little Aunt. Let’s all have dinner together,” An Jianqing said.
“Sister, if you’re bringing a friend, why call Second Uncle and the others?” Ning Xuechu asked in confusion. Her fingers were tightly clenched together. Her neatly trimmed nails almost dug into her flesh.
“I want to introduce her to them,” An Jianqing said with a smile. She glanced at the person beside her. “Xiao Ya, come and say hello to Xuechu.”
Su Ya was eating fruit. When she heard her name, she pointed at herself in surprise. Seeing An Jianqing’s confirming look, she made a gesture asking for money.
An Jianqing nodded.
Su Ya walked over and spoke gently, “Hello, Xuechu. I’m your sister’s friend. Please take care of me in the future.”
Pain suddenly came from Ning Xuechu’s palm. She looked down and saw blood slowly seeping out.
Su Ya continued, “Xuechu, I don’t know what gift you like. How about I buy you a doll? I heard from Qing that you like dolls.”
Ning Xuechu endured the pain and softly responded.
“Alright, Xuechu is shy. Don’t scare her,” An Jianqing said, glaring at Su Ya with dissatisfaction.
Su Ya wisely walked away and continued eating fruit.
“Xuechu, I’ll leave this matter to you,” An Jianqing said with a smile.
“Okay, Sister,” Ning Xuechu forced the words out through clenched teeth.
After the call ended, she raised her hand to smash the phone. She paused for a moment, then weakly lowered it and threw it aside.
It did not matter who An Jianqing was with. She only wanted the Ning family’s property…
Ning Xuechu repeated this in her heart again and again, reminding herself of the reason she stayed here.
She opened her eyes. Her expression returned to calm, but the hoarseness in her throat could not be hidden.
An Jianqing looked at her phone. The dark screen reflected her expressionless face.
Su Ya felt a little scared and carefully asked, “What’s wrong? Why does your face look so bad?”
An Jianqing did not answer immediately. After a few minutes of silence, she said, “My Second Uncle and the others are not as simple and easy to fool as Xuechu. At noon, they completed the checkout procedures. An Jianqing and Su Ya boarded the plane together.
After receiving the message that An Jianqing was coming back, Ning Xuechu went to the airport with Uncle Zhang, the driver, to pick them up.
After waiting for more than two hours, they finally saw An Jianqing walking out.
Beside her was an ordinary-looking Omega. Her appearance was plain, but her eyes were lively. She looked clever and likable.

She stood there without moving. Uncle Zhang said happily, “Miss Ning, Miss An is over there.”
