Human
It was lying at the bottom of the sea.
Right in the middle of an ordinary swimming beach, it had sunk.
Once, it had been human.
Crabs and sea urchins swarmed over the corpse, tearing at it so greedily it almost sounded like they were chewing.
They were devouring the flesh of something that had once been human.
It was so disgusting that I can’t bring myself to enter the sea anymore.
I can’t eat crabs or sea urchins again.
And I can’t forget. That expression.
Even now, the thing that was once human whispers to me in a soft, trembling voice:
“Come with me…”
