Human Barbecue
It seems that a form of corporal punishment called “human barbecue” has become popular among certain street thugs.
Apparently, the punishment involves pressing a person who has broken the rules against a scorching hot iron plate.
Depending on the severity of the crime, they might press just the hands, the face, or even the entire body—the part being “grilled” varies with the offense.
Once thoroughly cooked, it supposedly gives off a fragrant smell of roasted meat.
Then, real barbecue sauce is poured over it.
Although this brings an even sharper pain to the grilled areas, it truly smells like barbecue.
For this reason, this punishment—this crime—is hard to bring to light.
Even if the police arrive, if the perpetrators claim they were just having barbecue, the smell is actually convincing enough that the matter isn’t investigated deeply.
