Chapter 24: Beautiful Female, Do You Think I’m Handsome?
The toad was overwhelmed with joy, even fussing over the two hairs on his head.
He dampened them with saliva, trying to arrange them—one on the left, one on the right—but both looked odd.
After fiddling for a long time, the two hairs still sat one left, one right, just as before.
“Beautiful female, do you think I’m handsome?”
He shook the two hairs and turned to look at Luoluo.
Ah—
Suddenly, his eyes were attacked by something unknown, and the pain made him scream.
Luoluo kicked his chubby belly so hard that she bounced backward from the impact.
She fell to the ground, angrily pounding it. “Stinky toad!”
Just two hairs, and now they were wet and sticky, making him look even more disgusting.
She grabbed two handfuls of salt and attacked the toad’s eyes again.
The toad leapt in pain, his huge belly contracting and expanding.
At one moment, it looked like a balloon about to explode; the next, like a deflated balloon, shriveled and dry.
“Ah! My eyes! My eyes!”
He clutched his eyes in pain, rolling on the ground.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Luoluo rushed to free Chiyao. As soon as she reached out, the slime on him automatically fell off.
Luoluo looked at the salt remaining on her hands and realized—this thing was afraid of salt.
She quickly dug more salt from her pack and sprinkled it over Chiyao.
Sure enough, the previously stubborn slime came off easily.
Once Chiyao freed his hands and feet, he immediately pushed Luoluo aside.
“Female master, you hide yourself. I’ll take care of him.”
Luoluo quietly sat down and watched the fight unfold.
The toad, unable to open his eyes properly, was no match for Chiyao.
In just a few moves, he was knocked to the ground, dead.
Luoluo sighed. Another day, another life taken.
The toad’s defense was strong, but his combat ability was poor.
Well, an ugly freak like him—dead is dead.
Luoluo went to the river and carefully washed her arms.
Her fair arms bore many black marks, which from a distance looked like tattoos.
In reality, they were the beast marks of her twelve beast husbands. Any female who forms a contract with a male beast receives the male’s mark on her arm.
After the toad’s death, Chiyao brought its body to Luoluo.
“Female master, this is for you.”
Luoluo understood: absorbing it would allow her to advance in rank.
She sat cross-legged, focused, but after a while, she gave up.
“I don’t want it. You can have it.”
The dark, smelly mass didn’t appeal to her at all.
“Thank you, female master,” Chiyao said, thinking she had refused it to leave it for him.
He was overjoyed. How generous of his master to leave such a good thing for him!
After absorbing the toad’s energy, Chiyao successfully advanced one rank.
He felt completely energized. Meanwhile, Ziye and Xiaozhan secretly returned to watch the scene.
Luoluo sat on the ground, exhausted. Chiyao glowed with vitality. Ziye’s eyes shifted slightly—had they… mated again?
Xiaozhan asked bluntly, “You two at it again?”
Chiyao ignored them, spinning excitedly around Luoluo.
“Female master, I’ve advanced! I’m now a rank 7 beastman!”
He boasted from afar to Ziye, “Big brother, now I’m the same as you.”
From now on, everyone would be rank 7 beastmen—big brother couldn’t look down on him anymore.
Xiaozhan snorted, “Only rank 7. Is that really something to celebrate?”
“Of course it is! Better than running away from battle like you,” Chiyao retorted slyly.
“Who ran away? We just walked off intentionally.”
“Hmph. Stubborn as always. You knew you couldn’t beat that toad.”
Chiyao had no strategy in arguing—just emotion.
Xiaozhan got so angry his face turned red, but he couldn’t handle the cheeky little guy.
“Come on, let’s go. In two days, we’ll reach the arena.”
Once they arrived, only after Luoluo was killed could he get a good rest.
That night, they ate something called noodles—long, white strips with a chewy texture.
Following Luoluo for just a few days, Achang and Ajin visibly gained weight and strength.
Today was another clean-plate day. Watching Luoluo wash dishes, Achang asked, “Uh… want me to help?”
Chiyao waved him off, “No, go play.”
He grabbed the dishes from Luoluo’s hands. “All this rough work? Let me do it. Daily chores are what we males should do.”
He glared at Ziye and Xiaozhan, who only ate and never worked—a disgrace to males.
Achang, with nothing to do, felt a little down.
Luoluo noticed his tattered beast skin, riddled with holes.
She said, “Achang, come help me with something.”
She pulled out cloth, needles, and thread from her pack. After a few gestures, she sat down and cut the fabric.
She wasn’t skilled in high fashion, but she could make pants.
Two or three pieces of cloth sewn together were enough.
She handed the clothing to Achang. “Try this on.”
Faced with the gentle Luoluo, he couldn’t refuse.
He nodded and changed out of his dirty, torn beast skin into the soft new one.
He ran around happily. The new beast skin was so comfortable—non-restrictive and breathable.
“Do you like it?” Luoluo asked.
Achang did, but thinking his father said the cruel female didn’t want him, he pouted and ran off.
“Ingrate,” Chiyao muttered, then tugged Luoluo’s hand. “Female master, I want new beast skin too! Make one for me.”
There was plenty of fabric left. Luoluo nodded. “Sure, let me take your measurements first.”
Here, males were bare-chested and only wore minimal clothing below.
The beast skin was just a piece tied into pants.
Chiyao stood obediently. Luoluo used a needle and thread as a measuring tool.
She knelt, wrapping her arms around his waist, measuring the length for cutting.
Her hands brushed his thighs. Chiyao blushed, stiffened, and didn’t dare move.
Ziye and Xiaozhan watched from afar—Luoluo kneeling, holding Chiyao in a compromising position.
Ziye rolled his eyes. “Are they done already? Didn’t the mating season end?”
Xiaozhan twitched his mouth. “Chiyao really isn’t picky. He’s going with a female who sold him, chopped off his horns, and is ugly and fat.”
Luoluo’s hands moved around Chiyao’s thighs with full concentration.
Chiyao felt tingly and itchy all over. He couldn’t move, but he couldn’t help giggling.
Luoluo slapped his butt. “Don’t move.”
“Ah, be gentle,” Chiyao surrendered. “Okay, I won’t move.”
Ziye and Xiaozhan heard nothing but Chiyao’s “be gentle,” and seeing the two laughing and shaking, confirmed their suspicions.
