Chapter 14 — Female Master, Don’t Cry for Me!
Luo Luo’s ears twitched.
“You… what did you call him? He… what’s his name?”
Xiao Zhan let out a cold snort.
“I swear, Female Master, you really forget people easily. What’s wrong? Has your eyesight gone bad after being gone so long?”
In Luo Luo’s memory, Xiao Zhan was a white tiger.
But the tiger in front of her was yellow.
Did she misremember?
Or… did he dye his fur?
Xiao Zhan exhaled heavy breaths from his nose. He glanced at Chi Yao beside him and said hatefully, “Brother Niu, she treated you like that, and you still forgot?”
Chi Yao glared at him warily. “Mind your own business!”
“Oh? My fault for ruining your romantic mood? Should I stand here and watch while you continue?”
Chi Yao gave the female wolf beastman a disdainful look.
“You got together with her? Betraying the Female Master is unforgivable.”
Xiao Zhan laughed as if hearing the biggest joke in the world. He threw his head back and roared,
“Who betrayed who, huh? Your noble Princess Luo Luo?”
He merely found a female—he hadn’t even mated with her.
Compared to what Luo Luo had done, this was nothing.
Luo Luo was completely confused.
“Huh?”
Seeing her act dumb made Xiao Zhan so angry he nearly shattered his own teeth.
“You slept with my younger brother and made us brothers turn against each other. And now you’re pretending you don’t know anything? Die, you evil female!”
He leapt up, his massive body blocking the weak morning light.
His sharp tiger fangs glinted like piercing blades.
Luo Luo was so terrified her legs turned to jelly—she forgot to run.
“Female Master, move!”
At the crucial moment, Chi Yao transformed into beast form with a swish and attacked Xiao Zhan, who was also in beast form.
Xiao Zhan’s body was enormous.
Standing next to him, Chi Yao suddenly looked small.
One swipe—
Chi Yao was sent flying, slammed into the ground. He struggled a few times before standing up again, but he was already staggering.
Luo Luo was only a second‑rank beastman now.
Her combat power was basically nonexistent. She naturally couldn’t help.
She hurriedly summoned the system:
【Xiao Bai! Xiao Bai! Hurry, give me some supplies!】
The system lazily stretched.
【Host has not checked in today. Supplies are only granted after check‑in.】
A check‑in button appeared. Luo Luo quickly tapped it.
【Ding-dong! Check‑in successful. Strategy countdown: 119 days. Reward: One bohemian-style red dress.】
Luo Luo cursed in fury:
【Can you give me something useful?!】
A dress was useless right now.
She needed weapons—tools she could fight with!
The system sounded troubled:
【Host, rewards are randomized… Tip: Xiao Zhan’s favorability is now -1000. Good luck!】
Luo Luo froze.
-1000?!
That was terrifying.
What in the world did the original owner do to him?
The system was unreliable.
She could only run to find Ziye.
From afar, she saw Ziye standing on a tree, arms folded, watching the fight.
He had returned to human form, but he looked terrible—dark circles under both eyes.
Luo Luo hadn’t slept because Chi Yao tortured her all night, so she also had dark circles.
The two unintentionally matched.
Meanwhile, Chi Yao—who hadn’t slept either—was somehow full of energy and still fighting Xiao Zhan.
Xiao Zhan was an eighth‑rank beastman.
Normally no one dared fight him.
Only Chi Yao, that stupid bull, would charge in without hesitation.
“Ziye! Ziye! Chi Yao is in danger—help him!”
Luo Luo climbed onto the tree and grabbed Ziye’s hand pleadingly.
Ziye glanced at her lightly.
“So what?”
“So you have to help him! You can hate me all you want, but Chi Yao never wronged you. You can’t just watch him die!”
Ziye chuckled coldly.
“Who said that idiot bull never wronged me?”
Thinking of the intimate scene he witnessed last night, he felt an unexplainable rage.
It was just a kiss, but they kissed all night.
Was that kissing or devouring each other?
He went over several times—
And every time, they were still doing that.
Did they not have anything else to do?
“Huh? You two have a grudge?” Luo Luo scratched her head. “Since when?”
“That idiot has idiot luck. He won’t die.” Ziye yawned.
“I’m going to catch up on sleep. Don’t bother me.”
Crack—
Luo Luo thought she heard something snap.
“Ah—!”
A miserable scream came from the distance, startling birds into the sky.
“No! Chi Yao, he—”
Before Luo Luo finished, Ziye had already rushed out.
He only left one sentence behind:
“Watch A‑Cang and A‑Jin.”
Luo Luo jumped down. A‑Cang and A‑Jin were also looking up at her.
For the first time, mother and cubs stared seriously at each other.
“Dig a hole. Hide.”
She gave her instructions, stuffed the big bundle into their arms, and said,
“Hide this too.”
Even though there weren’t many supplies, it was better than nothing.
Just as she was about to run toward the fight—
BOOM!
A deafening noise erupted behind her.
Ziye and Chi Yao were slammed against a giant tree.
Ziye looked annoyed but mostly unharmed.
But Chi Yao…
He was covered in blood.
His only remaining horn had been snapped off. Blood poured from the wound.
The same strong, energetic, athletic black‑skinned bull who had kissed her breathless all night—
Now lay there pale as snow, too weak even to lift his eyelids.
Feeling her presence, Chi Yao struggled to open his eyes.
“Fe… Female Master… looks like… in this life… I won’t be able to give you babies…”
Luo Luo grabbed his hand and burst into tears.
“No! You’re not allowed to die! We’ll have litter after litter!”
She hooked their pinkies together.
Chi Yao forced out a faint smile.
“Female Master… you’re so kind… don’t cry for me…”
A female wolf beastman’s laugh rang out behind them.
“Hahaha! You’re crying for a male? How embarrassing—you’ve disgraced all females!”
She proudly patted Xiao Zhan’s yellow fur.
“Good job. I’ll keep my promise to mate with you.
But whether you can give me cubs… depends on your own ability.”
Xiao Zhan roared, transforming into a tall, snow‑white man.
He grabbed the she‑wolf’s throat with one big hand.
“That’s not what you said earlier. You said you’d give me a whole litter.”
The she‑wolf shrugged and pointed at Luo Luo.
“You two never had any babies. What are the chances with me?”
Pushing his hand away angrily, she snapped,
“You hurt me…”
