Chapter – 29….
After reading Luo Shuxin’s self-criticism, Teacher Fei couldn’t stop praising it, saying it was profoundly soul-stirring.
Judging by his expression, if it weren’t for the fact that self-criticisms could have negative effects, he probably would have liked to frame it and hang it on the wall for everyone to admire.
“Tsk tsk tsk, look at your writing! Such talent wasted on a self-criticism. Keep this in mind! Don’t hang around with bad students all the time.”
Bad student Jiang Jian: …
Although “hanging around” wasn’t meant in that sense, he couldn’t help but remember that he had woken up in Luo Shuxin’s arms that very morning.
After accepting Teacher Fei’s scolding, Luo Shuxin left the teacher’s office.
Teacher Fei immediately wiped the smile off his face and glared at the rest of the students still writing their self-criticisms.
“Jiang Jian!”
Jiang Jian was still embarrassed about the morning incident, his face slightly flushed. When he was suddenly called out, he looked up in bewilderment.
Teacher Fei placed a plastic bag in front of Jiang Jian. “Apply this before writing.”
Jiang Jian: “?”
He opened the bag and found a bottle of Red Flower Oil inside.
Although Jiang Jian had been a little upset when Luo Shuxin first gave him the outline, he had to admit it was helpful—especially when he was running out of ideas on how to continue writing.
He and a student from Class Nine were the last to submit their self-criticisms.
He was slow because of the word count, while the Class Nine student was just unlucky—he had been writing slowly and accidentally knocked over Teacher Fei’s teacup, ruining the self-criticism he had painstakingly written, so he had to start over.
At least everyone had finished their problems before the first official class began. Jiang Jian limped into class as the bell rang.
Things were quiet for the next two lessons. At their school, there were four lessons in the morning, with a big break in between the second and third lessons.
During the big break, Jiang Jian and Luo Shuxin were again taken to the class teacher’s office.
The “Princess Consort” (Taizifei) sat with a stern expression and scolded Jiang Jian and Luo Shuxin harshly for being late and climbing over walls, especially Luo Shuxin, who was also the speaker for the morning flag-raising ceremony.
The atmosphere was tense.
The more the Princess Consort scolded, the more Jiang Jian felt he had heard most of it before—at Teacher Fei’s place.
After ten minutes of scolding, Jiang Jian quietly interjected, “Did you just come from getting scolded by Teacher Fei?”
The Princess Consort paused mid-sip, “Smart one!”
In the past hour or so, students were in class, while the Princess Consort had been scolded by Teacher Fei.
Everything from “it’s a father’s fault if you don’t educate your child, and a teacher’s fault if you aren’t strict” to the Three Character Classic, and then onto modern Chinese socialist spiritual civilization, and even comparisons between Chinese and Western-style education—she really went all out.
Originally, given Jiang Jian’s “long list of misdeeds,” the Princess Consort didn’t think being late or climbing over walls was a big deal. Going to a KTV to celebrate a classmate’s birthday was inappropriate but not unforgivable.
But after being scolded by Teacher Fei for two lessons, her perspective completely changed—she didn’t want to suffer alone.
So Jiang Jian and Luo Shuxin had to stand there in front of her.
She sipped her tea to moisten her throat.
“Knowing that I’d just been scolded, you could have at least made it a little easier for me, especially you, Luo Shuxin. I thought you were an easy kid, but after sitting with Jiang Jian for two days, you’ve caught his ‘habit’ too?”
Jiang Jian: ?
She continued, “Why don’t you explain the transmission route? How exactly have you been interacting recently?”

Jiang Jian protested, “Isn’t it possible he wasn’t influenced by me? Maybe he was never a good kid to begin with.”
Having seen Luo Shuxin climbing over walls, he found it hard to believe that Luo Shuxin had always been the obedient type he now appeared to be.
The Princess Consort wasn’t angry. “Whether he’s a good kid, I don’t know. But I do know you are definitely not a good kid.”
Jiang Jian made a zipper motion across his lips.
A student like him, whose credibility was already destroyed, shouldn’t respond.
After scolding the two students, the Princess Consort’s mood improved. She no longer went on tangents or quoted endlessly.
“Let’s be honest—you did something wrong, violated school rules, and affected the class’s reputation. But if you step outside the campus, it’s really not a big deal. Although I haven’t been your homeroom teacher long, I think I have a good sense of people—you are both good kids…”
During her initial scolding, Jiang Jian had tuned out completely, but when she started praising them, he suddenly felt uneasy.
Based on his high school experience, when a teacher starts praising, it usually means a trap is coming.
The Princess Consort continued, giving understanding and respect in every sentence. Jiang Jian couldn’t help but interject:
“Why don’t you just get to the second half and say it directly? No need to take it slow…”
The Princess Consort raised her brows, surprised that praising them worked even better than scolding. Seeing how timid he was, she continued:
“Alright, I won’t beat around the bush. Your situation could be minor or serious, big or small. Teacher Fei strongly suggested I contact your parents, but the semester has just started. It’s not a good sign to call your parents right away. I’ll give you a chance instead.”
Jiang Jian relaxed.
His father, Jiang Zhiyuan, was rarely home. Even if the teacher tried to contact him, it would be hard. And even if reached, Jiang Zhiyuan wouldn’t be able to do anything to Jiang Jian.
As the saying goes, “A dead pig doesn’t fear boiling water.”
Just as he started to relax, he thought—what about Luo Shuxin?
Although Luo Shuxin’s family was stable, Jiang Jian had made him late and caused Luo Yue to come to school and be scolded as well…
