Chapter 09
But at that question, the hand holding the chocolate stiffened.
He hesitated and asked,
“Do I seem strange? For a grown man to like sweets?”
“Not at all!”
Sienna waved her hands emphatically, speaking with certainty.
Come to think of it, in this world, sweet desserts were mostly enjoyed by women.
It was an unspoken atmosphere, she realized.
But what did it matter?
“It’s not strange at all. I’m happy. We have one more thing we can share together.”
Shared interests made them feel closer.
At least, that’s how she felt.
He cut the chocolate into a bite-sized piece.
“Sienna, you’re really amazing.”
“Eh?”
“Just… everything.”
The chocolate melted sweetly in his mouth.
She casually called him “Dan.”
He didn’t correct her.
“Dan. Good morning!”
“Good morning, Sienna.”
They had exchanged names, but not much else had changed.
Just that their greetings were slightly longer.
Ah, the fact that he now waved his hand back at her was a huge step.
Even if she had to bow while lying face-down, it didn’t matter.
“Well, so what?”
He was just that cute.
The way he awkwardly waved back felt harmless and like a big, precious creature to her.
But that thought was soon shaken.
Isn’t this dandelion being competitive?
When she struggled to reach the topmost book, he quietly appeared from behind to grab it for her.
Even when their eyes met between the shelves, he didn’t look away.
Their bodies brushed against each other, their eyes met.
Awkward, yet natural.
It was like warm iced Americano—strange but comforting.
Shaking her head, she rounded a pillar—and bumped into him.
The book in his hand fell.
“Are you okay?”
“Ah, yes.”
He quickly picked up the book and hid it behind him.
He didn’t seem to realize that made him look suspicious.
Unfortunately, she had already seen the title.
“Fifty Ways Not to Step on Your Partner’s Feet While Dancing?”
His face flushed instantly, from neck to ears.
“Hmm. Dan isn’t very good at dancing, huh.”
