MID

Chapter – 49

I got hit… got completely hit.
Truly spectacular. (laughs)
All you can do is laugh, right?
It was an unusually steep market drop.
A 4,500 yen drop—what even is that?
And a mega bank hitting a limit-down—seriously!
You can’t understand this unless you experience it.
Watching from afar won’t convey the feeling.
People all over the world were selling in a panic.
If I exit now, all that will remain are scars.
I just have to endure.
It’s tough, but I should record it.
The records below don’t reflect investment trusts, so there’s an additional ¥500,000 in unrealized losses.

Even so, the drop during the Trump Shock the following year was even worse.
My losses went down to about ¥2,600,000.
Everything is experience, I guess.

It’s 2024. I started using the new NISA system.

I had sworn that I would never touch stocks again.
Yes, I really did.

And yet—
More than ten years ago,

After the Lehman Shock,
I stepped back into the market once again.

Just with 1 million yen.
I told myself I would withdraw cleanly if I lost.

Just as I had declared,
I pulled out of the stock market after losing several hundred thousand yen.

It’s a bitter memory. (LOL)

Since then,
I steadily saved money,
and it eventually grew into a considerable amount.

Even though I should have known better, I started investing in stocks again.
I figured I’d probably leave around 5 million yen behind when I die anyway,
so why not invest and grow the money I plan to leave for my son?

With that simple thought, I began investing again.
Now, a year and a half later, how are things looking?
