Chapter 15
He Xinyan sat in his car and didn’t call Mo Xingyuan until he saw Su Li enter her residential compound.
As he drove forward to make a U-turn, he laughed and said, “You’ve got such a beautiful wife and you don’t even want her. Are you even capable?”
“Is there something you need?” Mo Xingyuan’s tone was unpleasant.
“Have you known her for a long time?”
“No.”
He Xinyan said, “She told me you once saved her life, and she’s devoted herself to you in return.”
Sitting in his car, Mo Xingyuan had only one thought when he heard that.
Su Li was lying to He Xinyan.
“You believe what she says?” Mo Xingyuan mocked him. “You’re this stupid—how come no woman has cheated you out of all your money?”
He Xinyan was already used to his sharp tongue. “I’m innocent, not stupid. And she didn’t lie to me. When I date someone, we part on good terms.”
Mo Xingyuan let out a dry laugh and hung up directly.
Holding his phone, however, he kept thinking about what He Xinyan had said.
A life-saving favor?
Heh. Only that woman could come up with such a lie.
“Mr. Mo, Madam is going to visit you tomorrow,” Chi Mu reminded him.
Mo Xingyuan had almost forgotten.
His mother was no longer worried about his health. Worrying wouldn’t change the reality.
Now all her thoughts were focused on one thing—leaving an heir for the Mo family.
“Make a U-turn.”
Chi Mu changed lanes. “Are we going to pick up Madam?”
“Mm.”
On the way back, Mo Xingyuan found himself unusually conflicted.
He didn’t have to go pick Su Li up. It wasn’t like he would have trouble explaining things to his mother.
The car stopped. Chi Mu turned around to look at him. “Shall I go up and ask her to come down?”
Mo Xingyuan didn’t really want to see Su Li. Not a single word out of that woman’s mouth was true. Lies rolled off her tongue as easily as if she were professing deep affection.
For the past half month, she had disappeared from his sight and shown no concern for him whatsoever. Where was this so-called admiration she claimed?
Heh. Let alone love.
Hypocritical.
After hesitating for a moment, Mo Xingyuan said, “I’ll go.”

The moment the elevator stopped, Mo Xingyuan heard banging on a door outside, accompanied by loud shouting.
“Su Li, open the door right now!”
Hearing the elevator doors open, the man turned around, but his hand didn’t stop pounding.
When Mo Xingyuan saw He Shuming, his eyes darkened.
He Shuming showed a flash of displeasure when he saw Mo Xingyuan, then ignored him and continued knocking.
Mo Xingyuan had just taken out his phone to call the police when the elevator doors opened again.
Two uniformed police officers stepped out and looked at the two men. “Are you the ones harassing the resident here?”
Mo Xingyuan understood. Su Li must have called the police.
He stepped aside, deliberately putting some distance between himself and He Shuming, his gaze cold as he stared at him.
“No. I’m here to see my girlfriend,” He Shuming explained.
Mo Xingyuan frowned at that.
The police then looked at him. “And you?”
“I’m here to pick up…” Mo Xingyuan pressed his lips together. “My wife.”
The two officers exchanged glances.
One of them walked over and knocked on the door. “Police. Open up.”
Su Li had been listening to the commotion inside. When the knocking stopped, she pressed herself against the door and peered through the peephole. Mo Xingyuan was standing off to the side, out of her line of sight.
She opened the door.
“Are you the one who called the police?” the officer asked.
“Yes.”
“Which one of them is harassing you?” The officer shifted slightly and asked her.
Su Li froze for a moment. Wasn’t it just He Shuming?
Following the officer’s gaze, she looked over—and surprise flashed in her eyes.
When did Mo Xingyuan get here?
“Su Li, I just wanted to see you, not harass you. If you had opened the door, I wouldn’t have kept knocking,” He Shuming said as if he were in the right.
“I don’t want to see you.” Su Li truly had no desire to see He Shuming at all.
He Shuming frowned. “Let’s talk it out.”
Listening to their conversation, the police turned to look at the silent Mo Xingyuan.
Could this be a case of the wife catching her husband cheating on the spot?
