Klaus was furious.
As soon as he finished hearing the report, he threw aside his half-finished documents and stormed out of the room.
His destination was the king’s study.
“Everyone except His Majesty, leave the room!”
He forcefully swung open the door and shouted. The courtiers around George III let out screams and jumped back, hurriedly rushing out of the room.
George III, who had been sitting at his desk, was wide-eyed and frozen in place.
Klaus strode purposefully toward the desk and slammed his hands down on it.
“Did you forcibly take the painting from Richard?”
“It’s… not Richard. It’s the teacher’s painting that you assigned to that child.”
“Exactly. Richard said it was no good, didn’t he? You forcibly took it for George. Isn’t that right?”
“Ugh…”
Klaus glared at him with icy blue eyes, causing George III to nervously look around.
“How many times do I have to say that both you and the Queen are spoiling your son too much!”
“Eh!”
“Don’t hide under the desk!”
Without mercy, Klaus grabbed George III by the back of his neck as he reflexively tried to hide under the desk.
“Calm down… You really resemble your father when you’re angry… It’s scary, so please, just settle down.”
“If you think so, then just don’t make me angry!”
“Eek!”
“Just because he’s a child who was difficult to raise doesn’t mean he’s adorable! Who cares about that! Richard is only ten years old! And yet, the king and queen keep forcing their way in and recklessly trying to take away what’s important to that child—aren’t you ashamed?!”
“I-I’m sorry, I do realize that…”
“But?”
“Well… the queen insisted, no matter what…”
“And?”
“You—you wouldn’t understand because you’re not married, but the secret to a happy marriage is not to oppose your wife…”
“Are you stupid?!”
“Eh!”
“Listening to your wife and child’s every whim is the secret to a happy marriage?! If that’s the case, then just get a divorce!!”
Klaus released his grip on George III’s collar, grabbing the front of his shirt and roughly pulling him closer.
“So? Where is that painting now?”
“Well… I believe George delivered it to Henrietta…”
“Tch!”
Klaus clicked his tongue, roughly released his grip on George III, and spun on his heel.
“Where are you going…?”
He looked back over his shoulder at the door.
“Obviously, to the Earl of Solfesia’s estate.”
