Chapter – 69
Li Mujin
“Hey! Aren’t you being way too rude? Just barging into someone else’s cave like that?” Feng Hao shouted at A Jiao.
【This merman is pretty strong. Host, be careful.】
After hearing the system’s warning, Li Qingqing immediately gave up the idea of fighting him head-on.
Right now there were only two of them. They probably couldn’t beat A Jiao.
“Wait, calm down first!” Li Qingqing hurriedly called out to stop him.
When A Jiao heard Li Qingqing’s voice, the ice blade clenched in his hand actually eased up slightly.
“You just lied to me. I haven’t settled that score with you yet!” His fierce gaze locked onto Li Qingqing.
“He was clearly here, and you still told me you hadn’t seen him.”
He walked toward them step by step.
Feng Hao shielded Li Qingqing behind him as a whirlwind gathered around his body. “What are you trying to do?”
But wherever A Jiao passed, frost formed on the ground, blocking the wind.
Feng Hao couldn’t help but mock him. “You dead fish! Your brother’s strong—why are you so weak?”
He increased the force of the wind, finally blowing A Jiao off balance.
Li Qingqing grabbed Feng Hao and ran out of the cave. A Jiao followed close behind.
When Bai Yuan returned carrying a large black stone on his back, he saw the three of them fighting.
“Qingqing, are you alright?” He casually tossed the stone aside, transformed into his beast form, and stood protectively in front of the two of them.
If A Jiao were in the sea, his strength would be invincible. But this was land—his beast form had no advantage here.
Very quickly, Bai Yuan struck him down with a single palm, sending him crashing to the ground.
Inside the cave, Su Han had finally mustered the courage to face everything bravely—only to see his brother already defeated.
He let out a sigh of relief.
Feng Hao cursed, “Coward. The problem’s solved and now you come out.”
When A Jiao saw Su Han emerge, he struggled to get up, extending the sharp blade in his hand again, intent on killing him.
Li Qingqing wrapped vines around his hands, still feeling it wasn’t tight enough.
She bound his entire body until he looked like a cocooned cicada.
“Let me go! This is Atlantis’s business—why are you outsiders interfering?” A Jiao struggled on the ground.
Bai Yuan stepped closer, his exposed claws clearly ready to kill.
Su Han moved to stand in front of A Jiao. “Wait. Let him go.”
Bai Yuan couldn’t understand it at all. He tried to kill you and you’re still protecting him? Are you insane?
“He deserves to die.”
But Feng Hao understood the entanglement that came from blood ties. He raised a hand to stop Bai Yuan. “Forget it. Let them settle it themselves.”
A Jiao couldn’t understand why Su Han was speaking up for him. “Drop the fake kindness. All my suffering was caused by you!”
“How could your suffering possibly be caused by him?” Li Qingqing crouched down in front of him. “When you were thrown into the Abyssal Sea Eye, he was just a baby. How could he have caused your misery?”
“What you should blame are Atlantis’s rotten rules—and your superstitious father.”
“Anyway, your father is dead now. Aren’t you the one in control of Atlantis? Haven’t you already taken your revenge?”
A Jiao looked up at Li Qingqing in disbelief. What she said actually made some sense.
“Even so, he still has to die!”
Li Qingqing clicked her tongue. Why is he so stubborn?
“Let’s talk.”
Without waiting for his agreement, she dragged A Jiao toward a nearby patch of woods.
“Ah! At least untie me first!” The stones on the ground scraped painfully against him.
Li Qingqing ignored him and threw him down beside a tree.
“Am I stupid? Untie you so you can kill me?” She crossed her arms and looked down at him.
For some reason, A Jiao suddenly calmed down and fell silent.
Li Qingqing tried to get closer to him. “What’s your name?”
A name? A Jiao? That probably didn’t count as a real name.
After a long pause, he said, “I don’t have one.”
Li Qingqing’s mouth opened slightly—she had just been about to praise his name, but swallowed the words back.
That made sense. He had been thrown into the Abyssal Sea Eye at birth. Who would have given him a name?
“How about I give you one?”
A Jiao didn’t respond, so Li Qingqing took it as tacit agreement.
He must be surnamed Su, she thought. Which character would sound good with Su?
“How about Su Mujin?” Li Qingqing asked softly with a smile.
Her bright eyes gazed at him, clearly anticipating his answer.
But he showed no reaction, only staring at her quietly.
Li Qingqing felt a little puzzled.
After a brief pause, she continued, “Mujin is a flower. It’s a pretty good name. What do you think?”
A Jiao still said nothing. Just when she was about to give up on the topic—
He suddenly spoke. “Why should my surname be Su? What’s your name?”
“Li Qingqing.”
“Aren’t you and Su Han brothers? Shouldn’t you both have the surname Su?” she said, suddenly thinking of Su Han.
“Li Qingqing…” A Jiao murmured her name softly.
“I’m not surnamed Su. Li Mujin sounds pretty good.”
A smile suddenly curved his lips.
Li Qingqing’s smile froze. “Ah, you want to take my surname?”
Having grown up without guidance or care, Li Mujin naturally didn’t understand social conventions. “Take your surname? Why can’t I take your surname?”
She hesitated. “You can, I guess… Then that’ll be your name.”
For some reason, a trace of loneliness flickered in his eyes. “Su Han is really lucky. Everyone helps him. Even you help him.”
“Do you like Su Han?” he suddenly asked.
“Huh?” Li Qingqing hadn’t expected that question.
She waved her hands quickly. “Not really.”
Hearing that, Li Mujin’s eyes brightened. “Then come back to Atlantis with me. I haven’t taken a wife yet.”
As he said this, he even blushed shyly.
Li Qingqing never expected the conversation to turn this way.
She smacked Li Mujin lightly on the head. “What are you thinking?”
“What am I thinking? I want you to come back with me. Didn’t I say so?” Li Mujin truly didn’t understand such complicated matters.
Li Qingqing absolutely could not let her several beast husbands hear this.
“I’ll let you go now. Hurry back to the sea. I don’t know what it’s like underwater, but on land, a tribe can’t be without its leader.”
As she spoke, she began untying the vines around him.
But he suddenly pulled her forward, pressing her against a tree.
“I don’t understand these things. Can’t you explain more clearly?”
There was an innocent, almost childlike confusion in his eyes. Even in this position, Li Qingqing couldn’t associate him with romantic feelings.
“What are you doing?!” Su Han’s voice rang out urgently as he rushed over and shoved Li Mujin away forcefully.
“If you want to kill or punish someone, come at me. Why are you bullying her?” Su Han looked at Li Qingqing with pain and guilt in his eyes.
