Chapter 25
Ethan’s hot breath hovered over her delicate skin.
“What are you doing?!”
Seoha jumped back, pushing Ethan away.
But there was a desk right behind her, so she couldn’t retreat far.
Instead, she ended up sitting on the edge of the desk, sliding her hips backward cautiously as she kept an eye on Ethan.
“Why are you acting like this all of a sudden?”
“You smell good.”
Ethan stretched both arms around Seoha and rested his hands on the desk.
“Did you put on perfume to look good for me?”
“Of course not. And I never wear perfume.”
Seoha was especially sensitive to smells compared to other Limes, so she didn’t use perfume or even scented fabric softener—only the unscented kind.
“Step back a little.”
“No.”
“Hey!”
“Can I speak loudly? Someone might come in.”
Ethan’s comment shut Seoha’s mouth.
Her gaze first fixed on the firmly closed door, then shifted back to Ethan.
“If you know that, could you move aside a bit? This isn’t a motel room.”
“I know.”
The heat in his gray eyes deepened.
“That’s why I’m more drawn to you.”
Seoha’s eyes widened in shock at the blatant desire she felt on her legs.
Does this make sense? Here? Now?
“I’ve been thinking about it.”
Ethan licked her earlobe and whispered,
“I was thinking about how to make you think of me all the time, and I think I found a way.”
His warm breath in her ear slowly dulled her reason.
A moan escaped. Her slender fingers clenched tightly on his shoulder.
Barely holding onto her senses, Seoha trembled and pushed his chest away.
“This is my workplace.”
“I know.”
“But you want to have sex here?”
“Why not? No one’s watching anyway.”
True, no one was watching right now—but this was a place where anyone could walk in at any time.
Besides, having sex at work was crazy no matter how you looked at it.
“If we do it here, you’ll think of me clearly when you work.”
His hand slid over the desk.
“I’ll make sure you think about me all day long.”
“No, that’s not necessary…”
“I want to do it.”
His irresistibly attractive voice wrapped Seoha like a noose. She felt like a fragile butterfly caught in a spider’s web.
Before she knew it, her blouse slipped off under the desk. Ethan captured her lips.
A crushed moan slipped through their pressed lips. Ethan swallowed her sounds as he pulled her clothes down.
“You said no, but you’re ready.”
He smiled.
“You were expecting it, huh?”
“Shut your mouth.”
“If you want.”
Suddenly, his face disappeared from her sight.
Where did he go? Blinking her eyes clouded by heat, Seoha wondered briefly before grabbing his shoulder in surprise.
“Wait…!”
The sudden stimulus made Seoha involuntarily moan, quickly covering her mouth.
Her gaze reflexively locked on the closed door. Luckily, no one responded.
Before she could relax, Ethan’s sharp eyes locked onto her.
“Are you crazy?”
Seoha grit her teeth and spoke, but Ethan didn’t care.
Even with her mouth covered, faint moans escaped.
The clinic room, chilly without the heater on, gradually heated up. Her mind melted into a blur.
Ethan smiled as if amused.
No matter how many times she saw him, she still wasn’t used to his presence. His appearance before her eyes was chilling.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Can’t I?”
“No reason not to. You can even touch me.”
“I said no!”
Seoha turned her head sharply and tried to pull back, but was pulled in again.
“You’re too…!”
“That’s why it feels good.”
She wanted to snap back that it didn’t feel good at all, but by then he had wrapped her completely in his arms, so she couldn’t.
Her gaze reached the ceiling. The familiar gray ceiling reminded her this was not home or a hotel—but a workplace.
“Doing this at work…”
It was truly insane. What on earth was going on?
Seoha felt a deep self-loathing but it didn’t last long.
“Wait, ah…!”
Her hand, which was covering her mouth, steadied her collapsing upper body by gripping the desk.
Her mind alternated between whiteout and blackout from the ecstasy he gave her.
Unconsciously, Seoha helped him little by little.
The sturdy wooden desk creaked under the roughness.
Likewise, Seoha’s upper body collapsed onto the desk.
Her loosely tied hair came undone and scattered around her.
“Ethan…!”
Calling his name instinctively, her gray eyes softened. Ethan quickly muttered something in English and hugged her tightly, whispering fiercely in her ear.
“Han Seoha.”
Has my name ever sounded this good? Seoha squeezed her eyes shut.
She wanted to blame this bodily reaction on pheromones, but unfortunately, she felt none.
Still, the feeling was undeniable…
“Seoha.”
She could no longer deny it.
She had given a part of her heart to this man.
A beastman—worse, a beastman from another clan—and she had given him a part of her heart.
“I must be out of my mind.”
Seoha frowned and leaned back in her chair.
At least it was fortunate that Ethan was leaving soon.
If her body distanced itself, her heart would follow, and not seeing him would quickly make her let go.
She wasn’t even that deeply involved to begin with.
It was just a slight tilt from physical attachment to emotional attachment.
“Still, it’s a headache.”
Just thinking of Ethan made her head throb.
Seoha was about to bury her head on the desk, but the vivid memories stopped her, and she froze.
“Wait, ah…!”
Last night’s events vividly replayed, flushing her cheeks bright red.
The deep moans she uttered felt like auditory hallucinations ringing in her ears.
Ethan said he’d make her think of him everywhere, and his plan had clearly succeeded.
From last night until now, Ethan filled her mind.
His traces remained deeply on every inch of her body. Wherever his touch lingered on her collar, it stung.
“Just like a beast, persistent as ever.”
Seoha grumbled, trying to keep her clothes from sticking to her skin.
Today was a special clinic day treating only beastmen patients, so no general animal patients came.
Because of that, all the staff working today were Limes.
“Really? He said that?”
“Yeah.”
The staff chatted about topics no human could bring up while they were around.
It was only possible because it was a relatively slow day.
Beastmen usually had their own doctors and rarely visited the hospital unless it was a special case.
Though lunchtime had long passed, they had only seen one patient today.
That patient had only undergone a simple checkup, and with nothing else to do, the staff gathered in small groups in the lobby, chatting.
“What interesting story are you talking about?”
Seoha left the clinic and joined their conversation.
She had work to do—seminar prep and other tasks—but couldn’t focus.
“It’s about the meeting happening today.”
Now that she remembered, it was the day of the beastmen meeting.
Seoha nodded and leaned on the reception desk, where Kang Sunhee, sitting on a chair, asked,
“The Cha family will attend the meeting again, right?”
“That’s what I heard.”
Only family heads could attend the beastmen meeting, but not all heads could attend due to limited seating.
Only influential families could participate, and the Cha family, to which Seoha belonged, had never missed a meeting.
Sunhee expressed genuine envy at Seoha’s answer.
“I’m jealous. I wonder when our family will grow as big as the Chas.”
“You’re big enough now.”
“No, not yet. If we were more proactive, but since we’re rabbits, everyone’s timid.”
“That’s true. That’s why Sunhee, the rabbit Lime, is timid too.”
“I’m not timid at all!”
Sunhee snapped, and everyone laughed.
“By the way, I heard the wolf beastman head will attend this meeting. Is that true?”
The topic naturally shifted to the wolf family head.
“Ah, I heard that too. Is it true, Dr. Han?”
Since Seoha was the only wolf Lime here, everyone looked at her with bright eyes.
She smiled awkwardly and replied,
“That’s what I heard.”
“What kind of person is the wolf beastman head? I heard she’s a young girl.”
“No way. The head was chosen by the guardian spirit 60 years ago.”
“Wow, 60 years? That’s a long time. She must be an old lady then.”
“Maybe not. She might not age thanks to the guardian spirit’s blessing.”
Everyone shared opinions about the head, but no one was sure.
The head’s existence was shrouded in mystery. Only a very few wolves had met her.
Despite this, the wolf clan depended on the head because she received the guardian spirit’s blessing.
With that blessing, it was said one could gain wealth and power, so everyone tried to become or be chosen by the head—by any means necessary.
