Chapter 07 …
I Became a Transcendent-Level Genius Trainer
Meanwhile, Kim Gyo-jun couldn’t control his trembling body.
It was just a matter of correcting his posture.
Of course, Yujun had injected mana into Kim Gyo-jun’s body while correcting his posture, slightly influencing him.
But that alone wouldn’t make his movements dramatically different.
Even so, Yujun gestured again and gave him instructions.
“Keep going.”
Kim Gyo-jun swallowed hard and continued his sword practice.
Compared to other Awakened, Kim Gyo-jun’s physical strength was low. He hadn’t neglected training, but that was just his nature.
Until now, his training had focused on strengthening his weak body.
But now, he could feel something different.
This training was unlike anything he had received before. He didn’t know exactly how, but Yujun’s method had something else in it.
“How… should I do it?”
“First, I’ll observe more. I’ll decide after that.”
Yujun said calmly.
“You just need to trust me.”
Trust. That was all it took.
These words applied not only to Kim Gyo-jun but to every trainee present. Without trust, training couldn’t begin.
‘That hit was pretty powerful.’
The trainees here had spent a long time together, meaning they knew each other very well. They knew what kind of trainee Kim Gyo-jun was.
‘They’ll realize that strike just now was a level of power Kim Gyo-jun normally couldn’t produce.’
Naturally, they would be even more amazed.
“Today, I’ll train exactly three people.”
There were twenty trainees gathered here.
When Yujun said he would train only three, everyone immediately raised their hands, unlike before.
“Please pick me, sir!”
“I need training!”
“Sir!”
Yujun didn’t respond immediately but carefully observed the trainees one by one.
‘The participants are roughly decided.’
Kim Gyo-jun was clearly the weakest here.
‘We’ll start by teaching Kim Gyo-jun.’
The plan was to bring the lowest-level youth to the highest level.
‘We’re going to leave a strong impression on the guild.’
-
Trained Awakened Kim Gyo-jun.
-
Training Score: 5/10
-
Points earned based on training score.
The score was the same as before.
But Yujun had a feel for it. He had an idea of how to use this ability effectively.
‘Gained 1 point.’
The third and final skill of his current Lv.1 required 10 points.
‘Still need more points.’
The third skill was one he already knew.
‘Better to unlock it quickly.’
“Line up in order! I’ll choose.”
“Isn’t this ridiculous? Outsourcing youth training to an external trainer?”
“Ridiculous, yes. But don’t worry. He’ll train only three. He won’t touch the rest.”
The Sky Guild currently had three full-time youth trainers.
The guild master had called them to explain that some youths would be entrusted to a freelance trainer under contract. Naturally, this caused a stir.
“Why proceed knowing it’s unreasonable?”
The team leader among the three trainers asked.
“Uh-hana’s weakness was corrected. In just one day.”
“…Excuse me?”
The youth trainer team leader couldn’t believe his ears.
Instead of answering verbally, the guild master pulled out a smart pad and played a video.
It was Uh-hana’s training footage.
“…Huh.”
“Just one person…?”
“…”
After watching the video, the trainers murmured in shock.
They now understood why the guild master had approved the unconventional method.
The guild master smiled as if to say he understood.
“You can even go and observe if you like. Training is ongoing.”
Training Hall.
The Sky Guild trainers were closely watching Yujun’s session.
“He really is Yujun.”
Not only had he corrected Uh-hana in one day, but his identity as Yujun of the Promise Guild until recently was astonishing.
“Wait, is he really Yujun? Not just a lookalike?”
“Yes, that’s him.”
“I heard he was expelled recently. He only trained as an Awakened since childhood, right? He wouldn’t have formal trainer education?”
Trainers and Awakened were different.
To teach an Awakened, one had to verbalize and convert all personal sensory experience into explainable data.
Each Awakened had different senses, so the trainer had to guide them using explanations.
Thus, even when Yujun entered the trainer market directly, his explanations were fluid and easily understood.
“This is insane.”
“He gauges their condition so fast?”
“Looks like he just glanced.”
His innate insight allowed him to quickly identify problems and provide the appropriate solution in an instant.
“That’s not even the point.”
The team leader focused elsewhere.
“Solutions will come naturally if analyzed.”
The key was making the trainee understand.
“He’s making it easy to understand. That’s the hardest part. If he can do that, he’s better than me in my fifth year. And these kids aren’t exactly geniuses.”
He wasn’t just a fifth-year trainer—he had endured countless failures. Yet Yujun’s current training skills far surpassed his past self.
“So, that means Yujun became a trainer and corrected Uh-hana’s weaknesses?”
Among Sky Guild youths, Uh-hana was the most difficult.
She had the highest potential. Unlocking it would be a remarkable addition to a trainer’s career.
But activating her potential was extremely difficult.
Uh-hana had unique sensory Awakened traits. Even if other Awakened shared senses, hers were unmatched—or superficially similar yet fundamentally different.
Explaining so she could understand separated good trainers from great ones.
“How did he do it?”
The team leader muttered in astonishment. He had trained Uh-hana himself and knew how difficult it was.
She knew her weakness but didn’t know how to fix it. Yujun did— in just one day.
This Uh-hana was no longer the same. Her explosive mana circulation spoke volumes.
Once her senses fully stabilized, she could bypass the top ten floors and leap to the upper ranks.
And it all began with Yujun’s training.
Grit.
“What’s different?”
It was definitely different, but he couldn’t tell why.
“I need to see more.”
He couldn’t just be jealous. Yujun had likely experienced countless trainers while at Promise Guild, giving him exceptional skill despite starting fresh.
“I can’t let him take all the credit.”
“Uh-hana will be assigned to Team 3.”
Sky Guild’s Sales Team 3.
The guild’s climbing teams were divided into Teams 1, 2, and 3. Teams 2 and 3 nurtured new climbers for experience; Team 1 actively climbed the tower.
The goal for youths was to gain experience in Teams 2 or 3 and advance to Team 1. Uh-hana’s goal was the same.
“Uh-hana?”
Team 3 leader Lee Deok-bae frowned.
“Assign her to Team 3? I haven’t heard her weaknesses were fixed.”
Her acceleration ability had high potential. Properly trained, she could be a strong vanguard.
However, she had major weaknesses.
“They fixed it? It’s not just because she aged into promotion?”
The deputy shook his head.
“I verified. They claim it’s fixed.”
“They couldn’t fix that issue for years, right?”
Lee Deok-bae had recently checked the training hall himself. Normally, age determined promotion to Team 3, but promising Awakened could be advanced early.
“Even when I saw her recently, the problem remained.”
It was too short a time to believe it was fixed. But if they claimed it was, there was no further argument.
“Well, she’s here now.”
When Uh-hana entered, Team 3 welcomed her warmly.
“Welcome, Hana.”
“Yes, team leader! I’ll do my best!”
“You’re ready for today’s tower run, right?”
“Yes, I am!”
She radiated confidence, having received Yujun’s second training just yesterday.
“Enthusiasm looks good. Let’s go.”
Cloud Tower.
This massive tower was bustling with Awakened.
Over decades, Korea had attempted to climb its top floors; the highest reached was only the 45th floor.
When the 45th was first cleared, there was hope of a world-first top floor conquest.
But that hope ended at the 45th. The team that first cleared it became the elite, the “Masters.”
Many top guilds continued repeated attempts on higher floors, but most focused on lower floors for safety and profit.
“Let’s go in.”
The first floor of the tower. Floors 1–9, the lower floors, were easily traversable, like taking an elevator.
Sky Guild got off at the 5th floor. It was a very standard area.
“Attention! We’re not here for anything spectacular. We’re here to gain experience. Floor 5 is very easy. The mission is simple.”
Ding!
A notification appeared in front of Team 3.
Each tower floor had a mission that needed clearing to progress.
The 5th floor mission:
-
[Eliminate all monsters!]
A simple monster elimination task, preferred for inexperienced or new Awakened.
“Mission confirmed? Today we clear Floor 5. Don’t overdo it. Even though it’s for beginners, dangerous monsters are here. Mistakes can break bones, and—”
“In rare cases… people die. Nobody wants to die on Floor 5, right?”
Dying on Floor 5 would be humiliating. Everyone took the team leader’s warning seriously.
“Keep your tension moderate. Don’t overthink.”
Most of Team 3 were first-timers; the rest had minimal experience. All were anxious.
Except one.
One was already confident he would reveal his true potential today.
“Forward, vanguard.”
The Team 3 leader placed the new recruits at the front.
Sky Guild Training Hall.
“Team leader?”
Team 3 leader rushed in, breathing heavily, to a trainer.
“What… what happened? Was there an accident in the tower?”
“No, it’s about… how did you train Uh-hana?”
The youngest trainer blinked, confused.
“Excuse me? What’s wrong?”
“No, you don’t understand…”
The Team 3 leader shook his head in frustration.
“Uh-hana should go straight to Team 1! She’s fully ready. Who is this Yujun who trained her?!”
