Chapter 06
“Is there a problem? I thought it’d be best to perform the ceremony while the training effect is strongest.”
Irtis quickly regained his composure.
“No. Let’s go.”
“…Alright. We’ll depart once you’re ready.”
But Prodia couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling.
Something about his reaction bothered her.
Then suddenly, a thought crossed her mind.
‘Wait. Irtis is a mage. Mana and divine power…’
Don’t they conflict?
She stopped him.
“Irtis, I have a question.”
“What?”
“What happens when someone with mana enters a sacred area?”
Irtis smirked.
“They get side effects. Fall sick.”
“You…! Why are you only saying that now?!”
She shouted in shock, but he seemed unconcerned.
“At most, a bit of a fever.”
“Have you ever been to a sacred area?”
“No. But other mages who went said it’s nothing serious.”
Then for someone like Irtis, an archmage, it should be even less of a problem.
Still, Prodia was worried.
Sensing it, Irtis reassured her again.
“You didn’t forget who I am, did you? A little fever can be handled with healing magic.”
“If it gets too much, tell me. We can rest a few more days.”
“What’s this? You’re actually worried about me? I’m kind of happy.”
“Of course I am. You’re my contractor.”
“Then trust your contractor. Let’s go today.”
He smiled confidently.
Seeing that, Prodia felt a little reassured.
‘Right. It’s Irtis. The strongest mage in the tower. He’ll be fine.’
So she believed nothing would go wrong.
But she shouldn’t have.
