Where Are You Going
Perhaps my mother had finally lost her mind. Every time I went to pick her up, she would shout at me, and I was sent away each time. Her words were difficult to understand, so I couldn’t make out exactly why she was angry. Each time, a caregiver would calm her down.
“Why are you so agitated?”
“My son… He’s trying to take me away by force!”
“What are you saying? Your son passed away five years ago.”
