As soon as the meeting ended, Klaus rushed out of the conference room.
His older brother, George III, seemed to have some business to attend to, but he ignored that and hurried toward Richard’s room. Standing in front of the door was Richard’s aide, Elvis, who spotted Klaus and put a finger to his lips, indicating “Shh.”
“What’s wrong?” Klaus asked softly.
Elvis furrowed his brow with a smile and slightly pushed the door open. Peering through the small gap, Klaus saw Richard with a broad, radiant smile talking with Lena. It was a smile so lively that even Klaus hadn’t seen it in a long time.
(Wh-what…)
Klaus’s mouth fell open in surprise. Elvis quietly explained, “By the time I returned, it was already like this.”
(What kind of magic is this?!)
Klaus rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand, unable to believe what he was seeing. But the scene before him did not disappear.
“It seems you get along well. Perhaps it’s also due to that person’s character,” Elvis said.
“I-I see…” Klaus responded.
Richard wanted to see her, so he brought her here, but Lena Cramoran might actually have a more positive influence on Richard than he had anticipated.
(Even I find it difficult to evoke Richard’s smile… )
A small twinge of jealousy arose because Klaus was always struggling to make his brother happy.
Richard, who was so considerate of others, rarely showed genuine joy. He often pretended to be happy, but Klaus, as his older brother, could tell the difference.
“What do you think they’re talking about?” Klaus asked.
“I’m not sure, but… I’d guess it’s about a painting,” Elvis replied.
“That might be the case,” Klaus agreed.
Perhaps it’s a conversation that Klaus, who doesn’t indulge in art, couldn’t understand.
“If someone like her could stay close to Lord Richard, I think he’d relax a little more…” Klaus mused.
“I think so too,” Elvis nodded.
Lena Cramoran… she might have been more of a treasure than Klaus had expected.
He glanced briefly at his aide.
“Gather the documents I need immediately.”
It would be a great loss to part with Lena today.
(For Richard’s sake, she’s essential.)
She might be the one to heal Richard’s wounded heart. Klaus was convinced of it.
