Chapter 38
He looked so shocked he even started stammering.
“…Y-you, y-you, t-this bastard! Where the hell do you think this is?! Why are you here?!”
By now, Yeonwoo must already know why he came to Cheongbong.
Sa-jun smirked slightly as he glanced at Ryu Ikwon, who was roaring like he’d met his mortal enemy.
Although Sa-jun understood why Ryu Ikwon was so furious—losing his composure and yelling in front of his beloved younger sister—Yeonwoo looked unfamiliar with this side of Ikwon, her expression immediately twisting.
“O-oppah? What are you doing to teacher right now?”
Was this the first time she’d seen Ikwon like this?
Seeing Yeonwoo so flustered made Sa-jun almost feel sorry for her.
“Ye-Yeonwoo, it’s not like that—oppah was just really surprised…”
“No matter what, you can’t just go around cursing like that. What about my dignity?”
“Ye-Yeonwoo?”
She always sang ‘princess, princess’ in front of her friends, but now she couldn’t even call her ‘princess’ properly and was just stumbling.
“Yeonwoo…”
“Don’t be rude to the teacher. I’m the one who invited him to our house.”
Yeonwoo placed her hands on her hips and glared at Ikwon adorably.
Ikwon’s shoulders slumped.
That sight was really pitiful, but what could he do?
Since he was the one who’d put precious Ryu Yeonwoo in Cheongbong, if he wanted to avoid this moment, he had no choice but to borrow Yeonwoo’s strength.
“Yeonwoo, instead of doing this here, let’s go inside. Ikwon must be tired since he drove all the way here.”
Honestly, thinking of Ikwon, who was about to be hit with an even bigger shock, made Sa-jun feel sorry for him too.
Wasn’t today the historic day they kissed and officially became a couple?
“Yes, teacher. Oppa, come in.”
Yeonwoo responded sweetly to Sa-jun’s gesture managing the situation.
Ikwon, standing awkwardly at the entrance, sighed deeply and took a step inside.
“Haah…”
“Beom Sa-jun, I’m not going to let you off easily.”
Sa-jun lightly pushed Ikwon’s back, who was growling quietly under his breath and shooting daggers with his eyes.
“Not coming in?”
“Don’t push meee!”
Ikwon whispered so quietly that Yeonwoo couldn’t hear, making Sa-jun grin.
From Ikwon’s point of view, this situation was infuriating enough to drive him crazy.
If it were him… he didn’t want to imagine it.
Ikwon grumbled as he entered the living room but stopped abruptly.
His eyes were fixed on the table.
More specifically, the Dongdongju (rice wine) and spicy pancakes on it.
Surprised and flustered, Ikwon’s eyes darted quickly between Yeonwoo and Sa-jun.
“Oppa, what are you doing?”
“Uh, uh? You two were drinking together?”
“We were just about to start. Come join us.”
Sa-jun sat Ikwon down, who looked at him in disbelief, then took the seat opposite him.
Pouring Dongdongju into a glass, Ikwon shrugged off his suit jacket and rolled up his sleeves.
He was ready to drink seriously.
“Here, catch the glass.”
When Sa-jun handed him the empty glass, Ikwon snatched it silently.
Sa-jun smiled at Ikwon, who was silently sending curses with his eyes, and filled the glass.
The glass trembled as Ikwon held it; Sa-jun kept pouring.
“Oh, wait. Aren’t you not supposed to drink? You have to drive.”
That basically meant Ikwon was supposed to drive home today.
So cold.
“No, I’m okay. I took a few days off. Good, right?”
Ikwon gave a silly smile.
“So you’re staying here tonight?”
“Of course… Is that a problem?”
“Only for tonight.”
Yeonwoo opened her eyes sharply as she said that.
Her look was so insanely adorable that Sa-jun smiled broadly.
“Thanks.”
Sa-jun chuckled softly watching the two and raised his glass.
“Welcome, Ryu Ikwon.”
Chewing his teeth, Ikwon reluctantly clinked glasses.
Crazy bastard, lunatic.
How dare he come here.
How dare he drink in front of my little sister.
No wonder he wanted to come.
That Ikwon bastard was truly not trustworthy.
Still, I had quietly been relieved by his words, but what a disaster this was.
Innocent Yeonwoo thought Beom Sa-jun was a very good person.
Or maybe Yeonwoo had fallen for Sa-jun’s face.
Who would have thought the bastard had even invaded our house.
“Master Beom, should I bring some beer?”
What?!
Master Beom?
Is it okay to call him that so affectionately?
Shocked, Ikwon looked back and forth between the two.
“Sure. I haven’t seen my friend in a while.”
“What about you, oppa?”
“Me? Yeah, that’s fine too.”
Yeonwoo stood up to get some beer, but Sa-jun gently pressed down on her shoulder and stood up.
“I’ll get it. Stay seated.”
Who the hell just put his hand on someone’s shoulder like that?!
Wait, was Sa-jun always like this?
Even among his peers, no one had ever seen him take the initiative like this.
This looked like he was deliberately trying to charm Yeonwoo.
That bastard does have an eye.
Our Yeonwoo has to be at least a little pretty.
Pretty? Cute? Smart? But then…
Why is our Yeonwoo acting like that?
Yeonwoo’s cheeks flushed red as she looked up at Sa-jun’s handsome face.
I wanted to believe it was just because she had drunk something she couldn’t normally drink, but the unfamiliar Yeonwoo made me uneasy.
Could it be that she had fallen for that guy?
While I was feeling uneasy, Sa-jun moved naturally around the fridge and brought out the beer as if he lived here.
How often had he come here?
I believed he wouldn’t be shameless enough to try to reach out to a friend’s younger sister.
There was no choice but to believe so because Sa-jun was so popular wherever he went.
Even patients made countless advances toward him.
Sa-jun was trying to exploit Yeonwoo’s innocence, sense of duty, sacrifice, and spirit of service to keep her locked in Cheongbong.
“Beom Sa-jun.”
“Speak.”
“Have I done anything wrong to you?”
“What do you mean?”
Sa-jun narrowed his cold eyes and stared at Ikwon.
“I mean, have I done anything to upset you?”
If not, why come after my sister?!
Ikwon asked with his eyes since he couldn’t say it aloud.
The smart guy understood everything but tilted his head as if he didn’t know what he meant.
His face, handsome enough to be an idol, struck my vision.
“There’s no way.”
He smiled lightly as he answered.
But the more he spoke, the heavier the frustration in my chest grew.
“Yeah, oppa. There’s no reason for master to be upset with you.”
Innocent Yeonwoo sided with Sa-jun, and angered, Ikwon asked bluntly.
Yeonwoo also needed to know Sa-jun’s true nature.
“If not, then why did you approach Yeonwoo? You know how precious she is to me.”
“I know, that’s why I did it.”
“You want me to believe that?”
Sa-jun gave a cold glare that said, “What if I don’t?”
What kind of look was that… damn. I couldn’t not believe him.
“Yeonwoo chose this. Even if you’re her brother, you know you can’t interfere, right?”
“…”
“No one forced Yeonwoo to stay here. So stop meddling and just drink.”
I wanted to slap him.
Yeonwoo was restless and kept glancing at Sa-jun nervously after that icy remark.
Ikown clenched his teeth at his sister’s behavior.
Annoying but also true.
“I like it here. I’m going to work with master here in Cheongbong for the rest of my life.”
Yeonwoo stabbed Ikwon’s heart with that.
“Thanks.”
Sa-jun smiled gently toward Yeonwoo.
Sa-jun’s gaze toward Yeonwoo was deep and profound.
Maybe it was the alcohol, but there was something unusual in his eyes.
Could it be… that bastard?
One assumption that Ikwon never thought possible struck his mind hard.
