Prologue
I used to be a wizard.
No, not just any normal wizard.
I was a very talented and successful wizard.
With nothing but my natural talent, I became the youngest researcher at the Empire’s Magic Tower. I quickly rose through the ranks, faster than anyone else.
Of course, I made a lot of money.
I even married the daughter of the Magic Tower’s master. We started dating when I was eighteen.
Right after we got married, we had a child.
At just over twenty years old, I had the kind of life everyone dreams of.
Oh, right.
I even built a house.
A small but lovely two-story house in Yertchi Street, one of the richest neighborhoods in the capital.
Once the baby was born, the three of us were going to live there happily together.
…But then…
“Ridel. Now that you’ve married my daughter, I’ll think of you like my own son.”
“Thank you, Tower Master.”
“I have high hopes for you. Please work even harder for our Magic Tower and for my daughter.”
“I’ll do my best.”
My work increased.
It was already a lot before, but now it was much more.
And then…
I think I died from overwork.
I passed out cold in my lab.
Even though I drank so many recovery potions…
Maybe it was because I drank potions instead of water?
When I opened my eyes, I had reincarnated.
This time, I was in a country called South Korea, on a planet called Earth.
A world with no mana. That was shocking.
But what could I do? I had to live.
So I studied hard, got into a good university, and got a job at a big famous company.
Sigh.
Even in that life, I worked like a slave.
In my second year at the company, I was so busy I had to fly between Korea and the US for six months straight with my team leader.
And then…
Suddenly, my chest tightened.
At first, I thought it was just indigestion.
I couldn’t believe it.
Because I had died from overwork in my last life, I had worked out regularly and took care of my health in this life.
But now I really wonder…
Maybe I was cursed to die from overwork in every life.
Thud!
“What happened?! What’s wrong?!”
“He’s been working so hard lately…”
“Overwork? Don’t say that! Maybe he had a hidden illness?!”
Boss…
I didn’t have any illness…
As I was dying, I thought to myself.
Is this really the end?
Or… am I going to reincarnate again?
The answer was…
