Episode 001
Prologue
“Why do you always stare at your phone so hard?”
I was sitting on a bench on the hospital rooftop, not even looking up from my phone.
“Reading a novel,” I said.
That man… he’s kind of annoying.
This hospital rooftop garden is usually empty, so it was perfect to be alone. But recently, this man keeps showing up here.
He’s hard to tell if he’s a student or an actual adult—he looks weak and frail. He plopped down right next to me and asked:
“Okay, I see it’s a novel… but what novel is it?”
I silently flipped through the pages, showed him the cover on my phone, and waited.
When he saw it, he flinched.
“The Absolute Sect Leader…? That’s a martial arts novel, isn’t it? Tons of blood everywhere.”
“Yes.”
“Wow, you’re… unique.”
I glared at him and asked, “What do you mean by unique?”
He awkwardly scratched his head.
“Ah… did I say something wrong? Sorry. I just thought girls your age usually like romance, cute stories, or heartwarming stuff.”
He smiled a little, and I could tell he didn’t mean anything bad.
Even though his hair was messy, he didn’t look too unpleasant. His face looked more shy than suspicious.
But still… a man is a man!
“Why are you like this?” I frowned and glared.
“I like this one the most,” I said, returning my eyes to the screen.
I thought that would be the end of it, but he suddenly got serious and asked:
“Why do you like that novel the most?”
At the time, I just found it annoying.
Honestly… I should have just read romance. I should have read cute stories.
But because my favorite was a martial arts novel… I ended up reincarnating into a world filled with blood, sweat, and swords.
