Suddenly, someone grabbed the hand I was swinging my sword with.

“He helped, but I was the one who took down the mimic.”
“Really?! Is he still supporting you regularly?”
“No. That support’s over for now. Next time, maybe if he feels like it. So I’m solo too.”
“I see… Are you going again today?”
“Yeah.”
“Can I come with you?”
“… ”
“Is that no good…? Oh! If you don’t have a place to stay, I can prepare one for you. You can train there too.”
“In that case, sure!”
“Yes! Then after academy ends today—3 PM at the guild!”
“Got it.”
“See you.”
The park really was inconvenient, so I appreciated the offer.
When the time came and I went to the guild, I confirmed it—she was the magical girl from the Hero’s Party who had basically run off with the Black Knight’s black cloak.
I had only glimpsed her in the dungeon, and this morning she had been in her school uniform, so I hadn’t been sure. But now I knew.
Back when I was the Black Knight, I saved her from an attacker (a demon), and her clothes got burned, so I lent her my cloak.
She never gave it back.
“Looking forward to today,” said the magical girl.
“Y-Yeah…”
“We’ll split the magic stones fifty-fifty. Since you cleared the 16th floor yesterday, shall we start from the 17th?”
“Yeah.”
This girl has connections to both the Black Knight and Chrono, I thought.

Well, they were having a lovers’ quarrel, after all. I even got dragged into it.
Apparently, the Hero’s Party is currently on hiatus. Their guild ranking dropped from 1st place to somewhere between 1st and 10th.
So she left that position—the same one once held by the delinquent party I slaughtered when I first came to the guild as the Black Knight…
The current number one party is apparently an American explorer team.
As for me, I wasn’t interested in rankings. I promised to polish my swordsmanship and, together with this blood-stained beloved blade entrusted to me by my friend, to see many different worlds.
