Chrono – Japan Magic Explorer Academy Arc
Chrono – Magical Girl Guild Card

Name: Chrono Kishi
Skill Level / Achievements / Experience: 0 (Rookie)
Highest Floor Reached: 16
Money Remaining: 298,000 yen
Guild Rank: 114,514th

After eating next door to the guild, taking a bath, and then heading to the park to do my daily sword-swing practice, I was going through my usual routine.

“Hey! He’s here again.”
“He’s a NEET.”
“He’s here every day — must be homeless!”
“Who practices sword swings every single day? Everyone uses magic!”
“So lame!”

“… ”

As usual, the students were hurling insults at me, but since I was focused, I didn’t hear a thing.

“Hey…”
“Hey, I said hey!!”

Tap tap tap tap tap…

Suddenly, someone grabbed the hand I was swinging my sword with.

Huh?

“Finally! You’re the person who was on the 16th floor yesterday, right? I ran away… but were you okay?”

Among the group of students stood a small girl.

No—wait. Come to think of it… this girl is—

I had only caught a glimpse of her yesterday, so I didn’t notice at first, but we actually knew each other.

“Ah. You were the one alone yesterday, right…”

I responded as if it were our first meeting. After all, I’m Chrono right now—not the Black Knight.

“Yeah. For certain reasons, I’m solo right now…”

“I see…”

“Why do you practice sword swings every day?”

“It’s training!”

“Why don’t you do it in your yard or at a training facility?”

“I don’t have a house. And no training facility either!”

“Eh? Really!? Why?”

“If you don’t have it, you don’t have it!”

“I-I see… By the way, were you okay with that mimic yesterday?”

“Yeah.”

“The other guy—the one with the mohawk—the beginner support guy, right? Did he defeat it?”

“He helped, but I was the one who took down the mimic.”

“Really?! Is he still supporting you regularly?”

“No. That support’s over for now. Next time, maybe if he feels like it. So I’m solo too.”

“I see… Are you going again today?”

“Yeah.”

“Can I come with you?”

“… ”

“Is that no good…? Oh! If you don’t have a place to stay, I can prepare one for you. You can train there too.”

“In that case, sure!”

“Yes! Then after academy ends today—3 PM at the guild!”

“Got it.”

“See you.”

The park really was inconvenient, so I appreciated the offer.

When the time came and I went to the guild, I confirmed it—she was the magical girl from the Hero’s Party who had basically run off with the Black Knight’s black cloak.

I had only glimpsed her in the dungeon, and this morning she had been in her school uniform, so I hadn’t been sure. But now I knew.

Back when I was the Black Knight, I saved her from an attacker (a demon), and her clothes got burned, so I lent her my cloak.

She never gave it back.

“Looking forward to today,” said the magical girl.

“Y-Yeah…”

“We’ll split the magic stones fifty-fifty. Since you cleared the 16th floor yesterday, shall we start from the 17th?”

“Yeah.”

This girl has connections to both the Black Knight and Chrono, I thought.

Magical Girl – Guild Card

Skill Level / Achievements / Experience:
Former Rank 1
Former member of the Hero’s Party
Currently solo
Advanced long-range fire magic user
Current record holder for highest floor reached

Highest Floor Reached: 34
Guild Rank: 1000th

She quit the Hero’s Party?! I had no idea…

Well, they were having a lovers’ quarrel, after all. I even got dragged into it.

Apparently, the Hero’s Party is currently on hiatus. Their guild ranking dropped from 1st place to somewhere between 1st and 10th.

So she left that position—the same one once held by the delinquent party I slaughtered when I first came to the guild as the Black Knight…

The current number one party is apparently an American explorer team.

As for me, I wasn’t interested in rankings. I promised to polish my swordsmanship and, together with this blood-stained beloved blade entrusted to me by my friend, to see many different worlds.

Story

The protagonist, Chrono, is a prince from another world. Life as a knight has become so peaceful and boring that, to pass the time, he uses a Teleportation Jewel from the royal treasury and transfers to Earth.

Meanwhile, Earth is in the middle of a dungeon streaming boom.

During one such typical dungeon livestream, the top-ranked hero party—the #1 guild on the rankings—faces an unexpected irregular demon deep within the dungeon. They’re completely powerless, and the world falls into despair…

Then, from another world, the Black Knight descends.

The Black Knight lives at his own pace, sticking stubbornly to his own beliefs without realizing his overwhelming strength. His presence causes all sorts of problems: misunderstandings, romantic entanglements, and chaotic incidents that spiral out of control.

The story moves between Japan and the other world, with the protagonist dominating in both.

There are moments of seriousness, intense drama, and yandere-like obsessive love. A fierce battle unfolds among the various women surrounding the protagonist.

There are erotic scenes as well—the protagonist is a lustful character.

Expect appearances from dragons, beastmen, maids, kings, samurai, a school arc, a fanatic organization, harems, swords, moments of internal conflict with allies, and more.

The latter half of the story includes erotic content too.

The author aims to keep the settings simple and avoid an overwhelming number of characters. They’re careful not to let flashbacks or drawn-out scenes slow down the pace. There’s minimal foreshadowing, so the story is designed to be a fast, easy read.
