Chapter – 52
The Sound of Water in the Dark River
This fruit was something Li Qingqing had never seen before. It looked a bit like a blueberry.
She took it, put it into her mouth, and found the taste sweet and sour—surprisingly good.
But when she reached the third one, she suddenly felt that something was wrong.
Fine beads of sweat began to form on her forehead, and her body started to heat up.
There was something wrong with this fruit!
It was like she’d taken an aphrodisiac.
Mo Li had already pressed close, wrapping his arms around her from behind. “I’ve liked you since we were little.”
He greedily inhaled the scent on her body.
Li Qingqing’s body went weak. She struggled several times but failed to break free.
So that was it—she’d wondered how there could be such a nice person. Turns out he wanted to have his way with her.
She gathered all her strength and hurled a fireball at him using her fire-type ability.
Mo Li had no idea how strong Li Qingqing really was. Completely caught off guard, he was engulfed in flames and fell to the ground.
Staggering, Li Qingqing hurriedly ran backward, desperate to get out of the area.
Mo Li put out the flames and chased after her, shouting, “You ate the Passion Fruit. If you don’t mate, you’ll just wait to die!”
While running, Li Qingqing cursed back, “Isn’t this straight-up rape?!”
Thick fog surrounded them. Mo Li’s scent lingered nearby, meaning he wasn’t far away.
Li Qingqing almost felt like dying—she’d thought she met a good person, only to find a pervert.
Suddenly, she caught a familiar scent in the air.
It seemed like… Xiao Ziye!
She searched around for his figure, and as she stepped back, she bumped straight into someone’s chest.
Cold.
So cold.
Only Xiao Ziye had such a temperature.
The lock that had sealed the door of desire inside her body was suddenly pried open.
Her body burned with heat, craving only the chill from him.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, her voice trembling. “Xiao… Ziye, I’m hot…”
Xiao Ziye frowned as he looked at her, immediately sensing something wrong.
Her body temperature was clearly much higher than usual.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Mo… Li made me eat a Passion Fruit.”
How could Xiao Ziye not know about the Passion Fruit?
Any male who came hunting in the Xuanming Forest would avoid it at all costs.
Because if you ate it and didn’t mate in time, your entire body would overheat and you’d die from the heat.
When males came out hunting, their female partners didn’t follow—so how were they supposed to mate?
He didn’t know what madness had seized Mo Li to make him feed this to Li Qingqing.
With no time to think, Xiao Ziye scooped Li Qingqing up and searched around for a secluded place.
All the while, Li Qingqing’s hands wandered over his chest, her face buried in the crook of his neck.
“Hot… I’m so hot.” She wished she could meld herself into his body.
Xiao Ziye wasn’t feeling well either. He hadn’t touched anyone for many years.
Now Li Qingqing was like a ball of raging fire curled up in his arms…
Soon, he found a cave.
It was much cooler inside, and Xiao Ziye thought her condition might ease.
But instead, it only grew worse.
Her lips began to crack. She lay on the ground like a puddle of water. “Thirsty…”
She was so weak she could barely speak.
Xiao Ziye hesitated, feeling that this was taking advantage of her.
But Li Qingqing could no longer endure it. She directly pressed her lips to his.
There was an underground river in the cave, and from time to time the sound of flowing water could be heard.
When the kiss ended, Li Qingqing swallowed contentedly, as if she’d finally drunk her fill.
Xiao Ziye panted heavily, wanting to end this torment for both of them as quickly as possible.
Clothes were scattered all over the ground.
When their bodies met, Li Qingqing felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction—so cool…
Before long, the inexperienced pair both felt some pain.
The fine sweat seeping from their skin—it was hard to tell whether it came from pleasure or exhaustion.
The sounds in the cave rose and fell.
“Qing… qing.”
He called her name again and again, his voice trembling.
“Mmm…” Li Qingqing responded softly.
This was the first time he’d ever called her that.
“Qing… qing…”
Again and again, until Li Qingqing no longer had the strength to respond.
Xiao Ziye bit down on her as if punishing her.
Li Qingqing gasped in pain and let out a soft whimper.
Xiao Ziye’s expression was one of extreme pleasure.
In a moment of excitement, he directly reverted to his beast form.
Seeing the huge snake coiled around her body, Li Qingqing felt a trace of fear.
Yet the icy coolness of its body made it impossible for her to let go.
His tail slid over every part of her body.
Li Qingqing suddenly shuddered all over, goosebumps rising everywhere.
How could he even do that?
She was just about to curse Xiao Ziye out, when the next wave of numb pleasure left her completely unable to move…
Forget it—she’d scold him next time…
After an unknown amount of time, the burning heat in Li Qingqing’s body finally faded.
Both of them were drenched in sweat.
Xiao Ziye held her and stepped into the underground river, intending to wash properly.
He held her in his arms, but his hands were anything but well-behaved.
Now that the heat was gone, Li Qingqing slapped his hand away fiercely, looking very much like someone who’d crossed the river and then burned the bridge.
【Ding! Side quest completed. Congratulations on receiving the reward: Rice Planting Package】
Hearing the system notification, Li Qingqing let out a long sigh of relief.
Not a loss—mission completed, and it felt good too.
Xiao Ziye wasn’t angry. He continued to toy with her hair with his fingers. “So now that you’re done using me, you won’t acknowledge me anymore?”
When Li Qingqing stood up, she felt soreness all over her body.
Xiao Ziye had really used too much strength.
Supporting her waist, she walked out of the underground river and picked up the scattered animal-skin skirt, putting it back on.
“It’s getting late. We should go out, hand in the prey, and set up camp.”
Xiao Ziye, unusually, didn’t argue with her. He obediently stood up and started getting dressed as well.
As Li Qingqing walked out of the cave, she was still unsteady on her feet. Xiao Ziye quickly supported her.
Looking rather pleased, he said, “It was my first time doing this. The results were pretty good.”
Li Qingqing shot him a glare, but her legs were so weak she still had to lean on him to keep walking.
When they emerged from the forest, the sky was already dark.
Everyone had lit a bonfire in the clearing outside the forest and was sitting around it.
When Mo Li saw the two of them returning together, guilt was written all over his face.
Xiao Ziye’s vertical pupils locked onto him, as if he wanted to swallow him whole.
Chi Lin had been worried for hours when Li Qingqing hadn’t returned. Seeing the two of them supporting each other back so late, he thought something serious had happened. “Did you run into some fierce beast?”
Li Qingqing answered Chi Lin verbally, but her eyes stayed fixed on Mo Li. “Didn’t meet any fierce beast—but I did meet an animal.”
Ling Mo sensed the tense atmosphere. Seeing Li Qingqing staring at Mo Li, he naturally guessed that the incident involved him.
He said nothing, only added another piece of firewood to the bonfire.
Bai Yuan’s eyes stayed on the hand with which Xiao Ziye was supporting Li Qingqing. His gaze was dark, unreadable.
Exhausted, Li Qingqing just wanted to rest. She sat down in an empty spot beside Bai Yuan.
Bai Yuan was grilling meat—it was fresh prey from today.
The aroma made Li Qingqing swallow unconsciously.
Bai Yuan handed the grilled meat straight to her. Watching her eat happily, he then asked casually, “What exactly happened, that you came back so late?”
And why was it together with that damned snake?
