Chapter – 51
He’s a Good Man—A Really Good Man
If Ling Mo hadn’t stopped him, Xiao Ziye would probably have already rushed over and beaten that arrogant White Snake beastman half to death.
“Say that again clearly—who are you calling a wild brat?”
“Xiao Ziye, calm down. The tribe has rules. You’re not allowed to conflict with other tribes during a hunt!” Ling Mo grabbed him tightly.
He was afraid Xiao Ziye would act on impulse.
Xiao Ya had long disliked Xiao Ziye. For more than ten years, he had been forced to compare himself to this so-called wild brat—and no matter what, he could never measure up.
“Xiao Ziye, why are you getting so angry? The White Snake brothers are just stating the facts, aren’t they?”
That sentence pushed Xiao Ziye’s rage straight to the breaking point.
He couldn’t hit people from other tribes—but surely people from the Silver Tiger Tribe were fair game?
With that thought, Xiao Ziye threw a punch straight into Xiao Ya’s nose.
Blood instantly sprayed out.
Seeing some of Xiao Ya’s blood splatter onto himself, Xiao Ziye frowned in disgust. “You’ve dirtied my hand.”
Xiao Ya clutched his bleeding nose. “Xiao Ziye, you actually dared to hit me?!”
Li Qingqing nearly rolled her eyes to the sky. This Xiao Ya really thought highly of himself—he had a loose mouth and still blamed others for hitting him?
Anyone would have punched him.
The White Snake Tribe members began watching the show.
Among them was a short, white-haired male. Others called him Pan Da.
Pan Da laughed the hardest. “Oh my, look at this. See? Wild brats really can’t be raised. The Silver Tiger Tribe picked him up, and this is what happens—he even hits his own people!”
Xiao Ziye’s cold gaze fell on him, but he said nothing.
In Li Qingqing’s eyes, Xiao Ziye was someone who always repaid grudges. Yet now, faced with such provocation, he showed no reaction—only a warning glare. Something felt off.
Members of other tribes had already begun entering the forest.
Bai Yuan called out to the Silver Tiger Tribe. “Everyone, you can go in now. Try to stay with the main group—don’t wander too deep alone.”
The incident with the Fog Demon was still vivid in his mind, so he repeatedly warned everyone.
Especially Xiao Ya.
He loved going deep into the forest alone, then coming back to boast. “What kind of hunter is afraid to go inside? I dare.”
Bai Yuan looked at him. “Don’t go too deep.”
Xiao Ya, always self-centered, naturally ignored him. He turned his head away disdainfully, still holding his nose.
He headed straight into the Xuanming Forest, not caring about the rest of the tribe.
Many in the tribe had long been dissatisfied with Xiao Ya.
“All I can say is that Xiao Ziye hit him well. Xiao Ya is just too pretentious.”
“Exactly. His strength is only so-so, yet he always acts like he’s amazing.”
The only person in the tribe who still got along with Xiao Ya was Mo Li.
Mo Li went in together with him.
Li Qingqing’s first impression of Mo Li had been quite good. She really couldn’t understand how he could hang out with someone like Xiao Ya.
When Xiao Ziye saw the White Snake Tribe also entering the forest, he followed closely behind.
Li Qingqing seemed to guess what he was planning and immediately followed him.
“Hey, don’t act impulsively!”
Xiao Ziye glanced at her. His eyes were emotionless, clearly showing how unhappy he was. “My business is none of your concern.”
“Then why do females come out hunting? It’s to keep you males in check. What can’t I interfere in?”
“Even if I killed them in the Xuanming Forest, no one would know. It wouldn’t affect the Silver Tiger Tribe—don’t worry.”
Hearing this, Li Qingqing knew her guess had been right.
Ling Mo had heard it too. “Don’t do anything stupid.”
Li Qingqing shot Ling Mo an approving look. As expected, he was the more mature one.
Bai Yuan, who had been following behind, actually didn’t understand why Xiao Ziye was so furious.
Since childhood, Bai Yuan himself had been cursed countless times for having no parents, called a wild bastard more than once. He’d experienced no less than Xiao Ziye.
Yet for some reason, whenever Xiao Ziye encountered this kind of thing, it was as if he lost all reason.
Chi Lin exchanged a look with Ling Mo, and the two of them worked together to drag Xiao Ziye onto another path, away from the White Snake Tribe.
At first, Xiao Ziye was still furious, shouting that he wanted to go back and settle accounts with them.
But after being restrained for a while, he finally regained his rationality.
Bai Yuan mocked him, “What, did you also lose your mind like the ferocious beasts in this forest after smelling those hallucinogenic flowers?”
“Tch. I don’t need some little brat telling me what to do.”
The atmosphere instantly dropped to freezing.
The fog in the forest grew thicker.
Everyone relied on their sense of smell to determine the direction of prey.
Soon, Xiao Ziye locked onto a wild boar. In his beast form, he coiled tightly around it.
Before long, it stopped breathing.
Seeing this, Li Qingqing felt eager to try as well, itching to test herself on some prey.
She had been here for a while now and had never formally gone hunting.
And she hadn’t eaten meat in quite some time…
She hadn’t even found prey yet, but her mouth was already watering unconsciously.
Because she was too focused on searching, she didn’t notice that she had become separated from the others.
But she didn’t mind. They could always regroup outside, and this wasn’t her first time in the Xuanming Forest anyway.
As she sniffed around for the scent of prey, a wild rabbit suddenly hopped past her.
Spicy rabbit head!
She swallowed hard and chased after it.
The little rabbit was very nimble. She chased it for quite a while but always stayed just out of reach, never able to grab it.
Looks like she had underestimated it.
She immediately used her wood-type ability, summoning vines to bind it.
The rabbit struggled at first, but soon went limp.
Li Qingqing happily picked up the rabbit. When she stood up, she saw Mo Li standing right in front of her.
“You’re alone?” Mo Li was a little surprised to see only her.
Li Qingqing nodded a few times. They weren’t familiar, and she didn’t have much to say.
“Let’s walk together.”
His sudden suggestion surprised her.
She was just about to agree when she thought of Xiao Ya.
She really didn’t want to run into that guy.
“Aren’t you with Xiao Ya?”
Mo Li shook his head. “Lost him. No idea where he went.”
“Then let’s go together. It’s safer with company.”
After all, it was her first real hunt, and she lacked experience.
Hearing this, Mo Li walked ahead.
Before long, they spotted a deer.
The deer was rather foolish. Seeing the two of them, it even tilted its head to look at them, not running at all.
In no time, Mo Li neatly slaughtered it with his stone knife.
Li Qingqing’s eyes narrowed into slits—not because she found it cruel.
It was because Mo Li struck first. Didn’t that mean the deer belonged to him?
They had clearly discovered it together, yet he acted without a word.
When it came to food, nothing else mattered. She immediately lumped Mo Li into the same category as Xiao Ya.
But the very next second, she was proven wrong.
“You can have the deer. I’ll help you carry it.”
Li Qingqing silently apologized to him a hundred times in her heart.
He’s a good man. A really, really good man!
The two continued walking. Mo Li suddenly noticed many blue fruits growing on the ground.
He crouched down, picked a bunch, and handed them to Li Qingqing. “Try these.”
