Chapter – 47
Qi Shen, You Beast
“Feng Hao…” Li Qingqing didn’t know how to explain it to him.
Yu Yao suddenly burst into laughter. “Hahaha, Li Qingqing, you really know how to make up stories. You even dragged the Wolf Tribe into it…”
“Something bad has happened! The Wolf Tribe’s chief suddenly brought a group of people here, saying someone from our tribe killed one of their people!” Someone suddenly shouted as they rushed into the crowd.
“What’s going on? Who killed their people?”
“Are they here to stir up trouble over the Northern Snowlands again?”
“Could it really be them who spread the plague to us?”
The man continued, “The chief has already gone over. Anyone who can should go help out. Don’t let things really get out of hand.”
In an instant, no one was interested in watching this drama anymore. They all dispersed, heading off to see what the Wolf Tribe’s chief wanted by coming here.
The group that had been helping Yu Yao also left to watch the new commotion, and in the blink of an eye, he was left all alone.
Since reasoning with him didn’t work, then force was the only option.
She might not be able to defeat Yu Yao, but Yu Yao definitely couldn’t beat Bai Yuan.
She shot Bai Yuan a look, and he quickly understood, striding straight toward Yu Yao.
Seeing him approach, Yu Yao suppressed the panic in his heart and raised his knife toward the vines binding Chi Lin. “If you don’t want him to die, don’t come any closer!”
Bai Yuan froze for a moment, not daring to risk Chi Lin’s life.
Li Qingqing, however, acted decisively. She activated her ability, and vines sprouted from her palm, swiftly coiling around Yu Yao’s wrist. With a hard yank—
A shrill scream rang out. “My hand!” His wrist dislocated, and the stone knife fell to the ground.
Seizing the chance, Bai Yuan struck Yu Yao’s back with a palm. Yu Yao felt his internal organs shatter, spat out a mouthful of blood, and collapsed unconscious.
“Is he dead?” Li Qingqing asked as she freed Chi Lin from the tree.
“No. I left him alive,” Bai Yuan replied, helping her lay Chi Lin flat on the ground.
Chi Lin was already unconscious, his body covered in wounds of all sizes.
“They just bully the Red Foxes because they can’t fight back,” Li Qingqing said indignantly. They’d beaten her beautiful older cousin into this state.
Seeing how worried she was about Chi Lin made Bai Yuan feel very uncomfortable. “Who told him to be so useless?”
Li Qingqing ignored his childish remark and hurried to treat Chi Lin’s injuries. Only when she saw him slowly regain consciousness did she finally relax.
After Chi Lin’s situation was settled, Feng Hao stepped forward and asked, “What exactly happened?”
Li Qingqing didn’t know how to start and turned to Bai Yuan for help.
Bai Yuan thought for a moment and said, “We went to the Red Fox Tribe to settle accounts and captured Chi Xiaoxi…”
Before he could finish, Chi Lin interrupted him. “You really went to the Red Fox Tribe…” He had just woken up and still looked weak and sickly.
Bai Yuan shot him a look, thinking that they truly were siblings—both equally annoying. “Can you let me finish?”
When no one spoke, he continued, “After we captured Chi Xiaoxi, we found out that the plague wasn’t caused by the Red Fox Tribe. She had taken in a Wolf Tribe female named Wen Qing. When we infiltrated the Wolf Tribe, we happened to overhear Wen Qing and Qi Shen talking about it.”
When Feng Hao heard Wen Qing’s name, his eyes flickered, as if he were eagerly anticipating news about her. “Wen Qing? Where is she then? Did you bring her back?”
Unfortunately, he couldn’t smell Wen Qing’s scent on any of them.
Seeing his reaction, Bai Yuan guessed their relationship was unusual. After hesitating, he still said, “She’s dead.”
Just as Li Qingqing had expected, Feng Hao’s eyes immediately reddened.
He stood there in a daze, stumbling back a few steps, before trembling as he asked, “Did Qi Shen do it?”
After Bai Yuan nodded, Feng Hao turned and ran.
Chi Lin was completely confused. “What’s going on?”
Li Qingqing knew he was going to confront Qi Shen. “Let’s follow him. There could be trouble.”
“Your tribe’s beastmen killed one of our females! Today, you must hand them over!” Qi Shen’s lackey shouted.
The onlookers had no idea who had done it.
The Silver Tiger Tribe and the Wolf Tribe had become enemies over the Northern Snowlands and hadn’t interacted for a long time. Seeing them barge in without even a greeting, Li Yue didn’t intend to be polite.
“Chief Qi, setting aside whether our people killed your female or not, is it appropriate for you to brazenly storm into our tribe like this?”
Qi Shen sneered crookedly and clapped his hands. “Brazenly storm in? Chief Li, do you know that last night your precious daughter led people into our Wolf Tribe and killed someone!”
As soon as he said this, the entire crowd erupted.
“What? Li Qingqing killed someone?”
“Li Qingqing may be awful, but she’s never killed anyone!”
“That’s right. All these years, we’ve never heard of her beating someone to death.”
Su Qianyi, standing in the crowd, was practically grinning from ear to ear.
Li Qingqing, Li Qingqing—let’s see how you turn things around this time.
She jogged over to Li Yue, frowning and pretending to be worried. “What’s going on with little sister Qingqing? How could she do something like this?”
Li Yue had long since lost all trust in Su Qianyi. Hearing her say this only made her dislike her more.
She didn’t even spare her a glance.
Li Yue knew her daughter was spoiled, but she would never do such a thing. “Qi Shen, I see that you’re still young and haven’t been chief for long. I didn’t order you to be driven out when you barged in, yet now you dare slander my daughter!”
“Slander? Bring Wen Qing’s body!”
The beastman beside him left the tribe again.
Before long, they carried in a female corpse from outside.
Her chest was torn open, her heart nowhere to be found.
The blood seemed to have drained completely; her face showed no trace of color.
“This is the good deed done by your chief’s precious daughter!” Qi Shen pointed at Wen Qing’s body on the ground.
Feng Hao arrived in a hurry and saw this very scene.
“Qi Shen, you beast! You actually killed Wen Qing! Don’t you know Wen Qing is—” Before he could finish, Feng Hao rushed forward and punched Qi Shen to the ground.
Qi Shen’s people all knew Feng Hao. They stared at him in shock. “It was the Silver Tiger Tribe who killed her!”
Feng Hao let out a cold laugh. “The Silver Tiger Tribe? The Wolf Tribe’s sense of smell has always been keen. Why don’t you smell it yourselves—who in the entire Silver Tiger Tribe has Wen Qing’s blood scent on them?”
Only then did everyone react. There was only one person who had that scent—their own chief…
Qi Shen climbed up from the ground. Unable to defeat Feng Hao, he hid behind others.
When he saw Li Qingqing and the others arrive, he immediately turned the accusation on them. “It was them. They’re the ones who killed Wen Qing.”
Li Qingqing walked forward with a cold expression, raised her voice, and said to everyone, “The plague that struck our tribe some time ago was all the doing of the Wolf Tribe’s chief, Qi Shen!”
