Chapter 06
Looking at him again, he truly had such a youthful face.
The two of them, who had finished their sandwiches in an instant, leaned against a tree.
Sienna stared blankly at the sunlight breaking through the leaves and muttered,
“I wonder what tomorrow’s menu will be.”
Arthur, chewing as if he hadn’t eaten enough, hesitated.
“…Will we be coming again?”
Of course, only if she didn’t find the dandelion today.
Well, there were still so many books to read.
She tried not to get impatient, but the more she tried, the more restless her heart became.
Maybe he won’t come today.
Sienna returned to the library and tried to read, but she couldn’t focus.
And in the end, he did not appear.
“Princess… it’s time to close the library.”
The librarian’s voice brought her back, and Sienna stood from her seat.
I can come again tomorrow.
There was still enough time.
But the next day, and the day after that, he still did not appear.
Even eating soft scrambled eggs for breakfast, she found no joy at all.
She didn’t even know if the food was going in through her mouth or nose.
Where on earth is he?
Had he risen to the sky, or sunk into the ground?
“Ah… could it be? Did he rise?”
Yes. That beauty was not of the human world. She vaguely remembered seeing wings.
Thoughts piled up and spiraled toward the impossible.
Watching Sienna muttering to herself, Anna and Beni exchanged glances.
“This… this has to be it, right?”
“Yes. I’m sure of it.”
“I heard there’s no cure for this kind of sickness.”
Seeing Anna get serious, Beni timidly spoke up:
“Um… actually, I accidentally put sugar instead of salt in the scrambled eggs today…”
“Oh my.”
Anna looked at Sienna, who was still picking at her food, completely unaware.
The princess was lovesick!
Even after all those years of quietly loving Lord Valencia, she had never lost her composure like this.
“Whose young master could make her like this?”
“Could it be… an impossible love?”
Surprisingly, Beni, a fan of romance novels, guessed carefully.
“Maybe he’s married, or has children.”
“No way…”
“Or… maybe he’s just a commoner!”
Stories of love that crossed social boundaries existed everywhere, in every era.
Who could he be?
Anna questioned Arthur, who had been with Sienna, but he knew nothing either.
Neither Anna nor Beni could even imagine that Sienna had fallen in love at first sight with someone she had seen for only a few seconds.
That she didn’t even know his name or anything else made it all the more impossible to guess.
Unable to focus on her books at all, Sienna went outside and leaned against the large tree where she usually ate lunch.
Annoyingly, the sky was turning red.
“Not today either.”
It had probably been exactly a week now.
Arthur, who had been pale since earlier, suddenly spoke in alarm.
“P-Princess… I need to use the bathroom for a moment.”
“Don’t worry. Go ahead.”
“You have to stay right here!”
“I said I will.”
“You really can’t go anywhere alone!”
Sienna smiled brightly and waved at him.
Feeling the gentle wind, she closed her eyes… and dozed off.
