Chapter 11
The school doctor chuckled. “Whoa, someone’s got that domineering CEO energy.”
Jiang Jian shot him a glare.
Still grinning, the doctor walked over, laid a hand on Luo Shuxin’s head to check his temperature, and asked casually, “The medicine you took this morning didn’t work, huh?”
Jiang Jian: “???”
Both Jiang Jian and Luo Shuxin had striking faces—hard to forget unless you were face-blind.
And besides, not more than three students had come to the infirmary in the past few days.
That morning, when Jiang Jian came to buy cough medicine, the doctor had asked who it was for. He’d casually brushed it off with, “For a classmate.”
Now, dragging Luo Shuxin in and shouting about “hanging him up till he stops coughing,” the answer was obvious.
Realizing he’d been exposed, Jiang Jian instinctively glanced at Luo Shuxin, but seeing his calm expression, he barely managed to keep his own face from turning red.
After checking Luo Shuxin’s temperature and symptoms, the doctor said to Jiang Jian, “Just a mild cold—not as bad as yours yesterday. You were burning up yesterday, remember? Tsk tsk. He’s fine—stronger constitution. Some medicine and he’ll be good by tomorrow.”
Jiang Jian: “?”
What do you mean he’s got a stronger constitution?
He compared silently. Sure, Luo Shuxin was a little taller, but he looked thinner. With how obsessed he was with studying, probably up till 1 or 2 a.m. every night—who knew whose health was actually better?
The doctor sat back down and resumed his paperwork. “Just keep taking the same medicine from this morning. I won’t rip you kids off for extra.”
Luo Shuxin glanced at Jiang Jian.
Thick-skinned as ever, Jiang Jian said, “That medicine this morning was for me. If he takes it, what am I supposed to use? Write another prescription.”
The doctor gave them both a long, puzzled look.
What’s this supposed to be—two bros in a fight, pretending not to care, using me as a cover?
Luo Shuxin smoothed things over just in time. “It’s fine, I’ve got medicine. No need.”
The doctor raised an eyebrow. “Oh? You’ve got more medicine now?”
Without a blink, Luo Shuxin said, “A kind stranger dropped off a pack this morning. Didn’t leave a name.”
Jiang Jian: “?”
Nice. Keep pretending you’re not talking about me.
The two of them loitered in the infirmary for a bit before heading back.
But as they reached the bottom of the teaching building, Luo Shuxin’s phone suddenly started buzzing.
