Story 11
“I’m Always on Your Side”
Since I was a child, my grandfather raised me saying, “You are a special child.”
Even when I failed my university entrance exams, even when I failed in job hunting, my grandfather would say those words to me.
He said the same words when I was diagnosed with breast cancer upon turning sixty, when I reached ninety, and even when I was honored by the town after turning one hundred.
